Free Music Notes for Live in SeattleFree Music Review: Virtuoso fiddle & guitar Hit: 5 Stars
I just saw Martin and Dennis at the Tractor Tavern in Seattle Saturday night at a CD release party for this album (it was recorded at the Tractor a year ago). I'm pretty new to Irish music and don't pretend to understand how it is structured but I know incredible music when I hear it-These two have an almost telepathic sense of each other when they play-and their music is brilliant! Whether you are an Irish music fan or just appreciate great playing for its own sake, check this one out!
Free Music Review: Stunning ! Hit: 5 Stars
I have been playing and listening to traditional music for over 25 years. This CD is certainly one of the very best I've heard. It's as if they take the tunes apart in front of one's eyes. One can see and feel the intimacy and beauty at first hand. My 13 year old son who is also a fiddler listens to it enraptured ! Buy it. So far I've bought 3 !
Free Music Review: More Stars! I need more Stars! Hit: 5 Stars
This is the first Martin Hayes CD I purchased, and it has spoiled me not only for other Irish fiddle players, but for other CD's of his as well. This is just sooo fine! The emotional and dynamic range are just unparalleled. This is not the speed-for-speed's-sake playing of some others, it's evocative, lyrical and just plain tasty. Get it and enjoy!
Free Music Review: The most phenomenal music I've ever heard Hit: 5 Stars
This most feeling, intense, skillfull, and beautiful piece of music I've ever heard.... I've never heard anything like it, and I listen to nearly all types of music. I wept when I listened to it for the first time in our living room! It is all instrumental, and is greatly inspiring. I'm back for my second copy tonight....
Free Music Review: Martin Hayes- The Best Traditional Irish fiddle player! Hit: 5 Stars
Martin Hayes and Dennis Cayhill are the dynamic duo of irish music. This album captures their vibrance and energy in concert. They play for 27 minutes straight with no breaks or pauses (the second "song")! Buy this album if you like irish music! Also, check out the band Dervish!
