Free Music Review: PRETTY MUCH COVERS IT
Hit: 5 Stars

This set is great for the casual fan, as it covers the most creative period in Depeche Mode's history. Also good for collectors and completists in that it contains a few single only mixes that are unavailable on the group's regular releases. If there are still any left ( and I doubt there are - I could kick myself for not grabbing one when first released ) try to find the limited edition of this that came with an extra disc of rare remixes.(It includes the great Safar Mix of World in My Eyes)
Now if Depeche Mode would only give the fans what they really want and put out a two disc set of B-Sides, where much of their more experimental and avant garde works appear, the world would be a perfect place.

Free Music Review: A must for new fans!
Hit: 5 Stars

This CD was my intro to the group. I didn't know who they were until I got the CD. It is excellent for new fans that are just discovering the group. Songs like "behind the wheel" and "strangelove" will leave you wanting more from the group. Also the last song on the second CD is a great live version of "grabbing hands" which I believe was in the DM 101 CD. It is just great. All new fans wanting to get a intro to DM should go out and buy both of their singles CD's, the one with their earlier material (which takes a bit getting used to) and this one. You won't regret it! If you're a cure, smiths, new order or U2 fan or just into brit pop you'll love this group!

Free Music Review: You NEED this album
Hit: 5 Stars

I don't care what music you're into but you NEED this album! I'm more of a rockish fan but this album isn't just perfect for it's sound but its flawless lyrics. Never has any band been able to put something down on paper as well as Martin Gore and get it to sound as emotional as it does (it you listen to the lyrics as well). The second disc was average DM stuff while the first disc contains the best music you'll ever hear from DM. If I had to be select and highlight my favourite songs, I'd highlight the first 10. While they are actually quite bouncy and poppy, they were actually designed to be in nightclubs and such but to really appreciate their music, you'll need to listen to what they say.

Free Music Review: New Generation, Old but Good Music
Hit: 5 Stars

I fell in love with this CD even though most of the music I like is people like Kid Rock & Eminem. I think this has good music for both the new generation, but still has a bit of the classic rock & all. My two personal favorite songs are "Walking In My Shoes", which teaches a great lesson, & "Only When I Lose Myself", which just happens to be mine & my guys song (but that's another story ;). I just think that if you like good music that isn't necessarily hard rock, but still rock, you'd like this CD. It's got a bit of everything & to me, is pretty perfect. I think this is a good CD for every one, young & a bit older than the young ;).

Free Music Review: superb collection
Hit: 5 Stars

Depeche Mode has got to be one of the most underappreciated bands (along with New Order) in the music world. This singles compilation reafirmed to me how unjust of a situation that is. For the past 2 decades, this band, with all of its flaws, has been able to produce a unique brand of electronic music that has elevated that genre to something respectable. Disc one is simply perfect; not a single throwaway tune here. Disc two doesn't quite live up to those standards, but is still quite good. The concluding live version of "Everything Counts" is a wonderful closer to this collection, despite its otherwise chronological order. For fans old and new alike, get this package now!
