Free Music Review: Derek Trucks - Artistic Hero!
Hit: 5 Stars

Derek and the band absolutely rule! This is a must have.
If you get the chance, go see him live. After seeing the band these songs will leap out of the speakers with much more impact.
Great recording!

Free Music Review: Great stuff
Hit: 4 Stars

I have been a DTB fan for a couple of years now. I think this live CD capture the jam band feel they always have. I read all the 1 star reviews and was disappointed they dave the CD bad review because of the IMPORT price. Now I must say if your going to give DTB 1 star for their music, it was probably better you didn't get the CD because its not your type of music.
A great CD to buy, just dont pay the import price.

Free Music Review: Good solid performance
Hit: 4 Stars

If you've heard the Derek Trucks Band then you'll want this. It is a good solid performance, maybe not as controlled as the DVD Songlines Live, and a lot looser. This sounds like they're testing out some of the material that ended up on Songlines and it is interesting to see where it is here.

Stop reading the reviews and just buy it - you'll like it.

Free Music Review: For JAZZ LOVERS it's great
Hit: 3 Stars

That said, it's not the Derek/Allman Brother's type of music that has made him such a prominent force in the last decade. It's very well done but it's definately much heavier on the jazz riffs than the blues. Reminiscent of many of the 70's masters like Roland Kirk and especially Pharoah Sanders (Volunteered Slavery). There's a very strong similarity to the Neville Brothers as a current reference point. My summnation...I wanted something bluesier. This isn't.
