a nice record; one that reminds me a bit of "Rare Earth" in it's interesting use of percussion/vocals/instrumentals. Derek Trucks plays with great style on slide guitar/dobro and the songs are intriguing - i like the fact that his playing is not the entire focus of the album.
having said all of the above, i have only listend through the record four/five times. this seems like the type of cd that "grows" on a person.
i recommend this record - the musicianship, on each instrument, is top-notch as is the sound/production. it's just not (yet) the one i reach for at the end (or beginning) of a long day.

Not the kind of music i was expecting to hear when i purchased the cd. I was looking for a real rockin, bluesy, jam on kind of album seems how he is from the Allman Bros. Band. NOT THE CASE. This album is a total waste of time and money. Turns out its like world music, with a hint of gospel and new age jazz. Total Let down from what i was expecting after "Rolling Stone" named him one of the new guitar gods. DEREK TRUCKS IS NOT A GUITAR GOD, HE IS A TOTAL WASTE !Free Music Review: Very boring, did not dig this at all.

what a load of garbage. I really dig derek's playing with the ABB, but this sucked bad. I found myself hitting the forward key to get to the next song. I got this through a club for 2.50 and still feel cheated. Save your money on this, it really is not worth it.
