This is a very cool, eclectic disc. Standing on its own even without the movie, the tracks (by everyone from Dire Straits to Los Lobos) have a nice flow to them that well represent the northern Mexico / West Coast sound they're striving for. When I first bought it years ago, it was just another disc, but the more I listen to it, the more I enjoy it. The audio clips from the movie may be a bit distracting to those who haven't seen the film, but they're not particularly long.Free Music Review: THIS SOUNDTRACK ROCKS

A fitting companion to a great action film - the highlight of the CD is undoubtedly Tito and Tarantula's "Strange Face of Love" - whoever picked the tracks and produced this album (Rodriguez?) did an excellent job. I was disappointed, only because the music doesn't carry over the action of the movie. The main reason I purchased the CD was for the song that Salma Hayek sang...her voice is every bit as sensual and seductive as in the movie.Free Music Review: great songs

one of the best soundtracks i own.most of the songs here are from los lobos,and on one song even antonio banderas sings.the other songs are "six blade knife" by dire straits,"jack the ripper" by link wray and his men. two of the best songs in any music category.most of the songs jamming and the rest are worth listening to.you also get dialogue from the movie from banderas,cheech marin,quentin tarantino,and steve buscemi.great soundtrack.Free Music Review: Quite Simply, the best Soundtrack I own

While sitting around, watching Desperado for the first time, an being amazed by it's incredible action sequences, the thought popped into my mind that not only was this an incredible action flick, it had some great music! And so began my quest for the Soundtrack, and when I found it and popped it into my player, I couldent beleive it.This is one of the rare CD's where I can just leave this playing all day and not worry about running into a bad track that i'd normally skip. I have yet to find a fault with any track on this CD. Cancion Del Mariachi, Six Blade Knife, Jack the Ripper, Strange Face of Love, Navajas Attacks and Let Love Reign are the main highlights for me, though just..every track on here is great. The inclusion of lines from the movie at the opening of some of the tracks is great as well.
Los Lobos wrote just an Incredible score for this movie, and it's all perfectly captured on this soundtrack. You could not spend your money any better way, I guarantee you.
