Free Music Review: Just wasn't "Fulfilled"

First off let me say that I am not a DC hater and I have been a fan of the ladies since the original DC. I bought this album on Sat b/c it was being sold before its release date and I couldn't wait to get it home to play it. Although I'm loving the Loose My Breath single, Soldier seems to be along the lines of Monica's unreleased "Too Hood" accompanied with a remade beat from DC's "With Me" feat. Master P. I'm not going to lie and say that there aren't a few good songs on the album but it lacks the fierceness that their Writings on The Wall had and the ballads don't even come close to their Survivor album. Honestly I felt that this album was something that was thrown together for the fans and to stomp out the rumors that the group had disbanded. I'm not sure if the girls solo projects which led to individual growth affected this album or not...I have each of their solo projects (love them...esp Kelly's) and I just don't think this album cuts the cake...esp with it being rumored that this might be the girls last album as a group.I liked how they allowed each girl to sing equally on each song but I think it would've flowed a little better if each girl lead a few songs...the girls voices are so unique they don't all go well on one song as well as Xscape or En Vogue...partly because each girl is a soloist. The tightest cuts are: Loose My Breath, Soldier--grows on you, Cater 2 U, Bad Habit,and Through With Love. After rocking this cd all weekend I just don't find myself being fulfilled...but more like teased. I find myself saying I can't wait for the next Beyonce album or the new Kelly album. I guess I'll keep rocking Ciara's "Goodies" album until I find something to replace it.
