As a big fan of the show "Metalocalypse" I was exited about getting this album. I listened to most of the songs online beforehand, loved them, and decided to buy my first music CD since the late 90's. Once I popped it in at home I was attacked by a brutal metal force.
If you like Metallica, Iron Maiden, and guitar solos you will LOVE this CD. Without the cartoon to distract you, the music will surprise you with its quality. Tracks range from very melodic to very heavy, and the lyrics are satiric and dark.
NOTE: "Crush my Battle Opponents Balls" and "Dunkin Hills Jingle" are NOT included in this Album, which was very dissapointing for me. But I'm sure you can get it elsewhere, if you really want to.

This album is based on the Adult Swim, Brandon Small Written Metalocalypse series, which all of these songs have been featured on. Brandon Small plays all instruments except drums and does the lead vocals, an impressive accomplishment because this album is put together better than most metal/deathmetal albums with larger budgets, "known" produces, and big named bands. Overall, highlights for me are Awaken, Briefcase full of Girls, and Birthday Deathday. It is hard to believe that this tounge and cheek mockary/tribute of metal bands that is so visually gorey (not for small kids) is so good. I highly recommend this album to all fans of things that are brutal and metal.Free Music Review: Melts Your Face Off

The fact that this album is associated with a cartoon is completely irrelevant.
If your soul craves the blissful abuse only brought about by hard, HARD music, the answer is Dëthkløk.
To put it bluntly, Dëthkløk, AKA Nathan Explosion, et.al., AKA Brendan Small et.al., found the balls Metallica lost blowing their 'Load', skewered them with a sottering iron, fed them to a summoned Kraken, and road the Kraken to kick Metallica's A**.
All while Old Man Dio watched through moistened eyes and clapped his hands in glee.
If you like Metal, you'll love Dëthkløk.

While Dethklok may be an imaginary band made up of two people, you wouldn't know it listening to this album. All the instruments are played with such precision that the only real hint that this is not a real band would be in the lyrics. Regardless, this album is an excellent listen. Melodic lead guitar harmonies, excellent riffs, and all around fun. I definitely recommend picking this album up if you are a fan of metal at all. I also recommend checking out Metalockalypse on Adult Swim if you haven't seen it already... it is a wildly entertaining show.Free Music Review: Great Show, Even Better Album

This is an incredibly good album. I'm a metal fan and my favorite genre is Death Metal. This borrows a lot from Death Metal and traditional metal. Trust me when I say there isn't a bad song on the entire album. Every song is good. I was expecting the parts from the shows to be good, but even the newly added parts to each song are on par with the quality of the music in the episodes. Great purchase, not only for fans of the show, but for fans of heavy music and metal.
