Free Music Notes for All for You: A Dedication to the Nat King Cole Trio

Free Music Review: So you want romance?
Hit: 5 Stars

Having first heard Diana Krall for the first time coming from the tape deck of a delivery truck, I knew I had to get one of her CD's to hear more. So, I ran out and bought "When I Look In Your Eyes". I was not disappointed. Her deep, sultry, sexy and otherwise soothing voice singing some of the classic jazz masterpieces had me turning out the lights and putting my arm around my sweetie faster than you could say, "Incredible". Defginitely worth the money and more. Now all I have to do is convince my friends to buy me the rest of her Cd's...

Free Music Review: Peak Performance
Hit: 5 Stars

There is nothing like a classic by which to gage a new artist. I had been searching for a new jazz sound that I could connect with and bought Diana's Debut album on a whim. I fell head over heels in love with her voice, her piano, and her group.
Since then I have collected nearly every one of Diana's CDs. The Nat King Cole dedication album was the climax. Selfishly speaking, I wish the recording company would resist the urge to create another Pop Diva and leave Diana to mellow like fine Cabernet in a classy dark cellar for true Jazz afficianados.

Free Music Review: The Diva's Best to Date
Hit: 5 Stars

Diana Krall is the consensus Diva of Jazz these days. While I don't necessarily agree, there's no denying her talent, and if you're curious about her artistry, this is a good place to start. This, her tribute to Nat King Cole, along with the ensuing "Love Scenes", are her best works to date. Highlights include the rollicking "Hit That Jive, Jack" and the haunting "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" (the latter proving that Krall is capable of doing something memorable that isn't necessarily "cool.") Highly recommended, whether you're a big fan or not.

Free Music Review: My favorite Krall CD !
Hit: 5 Stars

This is my favorite Krall CD as she swings much more on this Nat King Cole Trio tribute (not just sultry singing like her newer Cds) . Also she plays the piano more. I would buy her CDs just to listen to here play the piano as she is one the best jazz pianist on the scene today. I like her song selection which includes Hit that Jive Jack, Frim Fram Sauce, Deed I Do. Baby baby all the time, Gee Baby ain't I good to you . Her trio (like the Nat King Cole Trio)with no drums - Russel Malone on guitar and Paul Keller on bass really sound good together.

Free Music Review: Jazz that is "Jazz"
Hit: 5 Stars

Recently I discovered Diana Krall from a friend that ownes a music store. I was traveling on the road and wanted to buy a CD that would be relaxing. He set me onto Diana, and I have not turned back. This album "All For You" is my third album by Diana and I plan to get the rest of her recording in the near future. I highly recommend her performances. As a drumer and music educator I find this album (and all her albums) to be rich with musical feeling and of high quality performance. Go out and get this album....you wil not regret it!
