I knew the idea of Diana Krall making a Christmas album could never go wrong -- and it didn't! This is a 'Swonderful holiday CD to be snowed in beside your lover with. As always the piano takes center bear rug to the performances, with rich warm strings fireplaced throughout, and even some playful horns mistletoeing on a few tracks. This is not Diana at her grandest or her most forceful -- it's Ms. Krall doing sweet and smooth and happy like only she can. There is even one song frosted with Diana's giggles as she mixes it up with the band. If you're looking for a Christmas album that feels like a comfortable sweater and smells like the perfume of your sweetheart then this is the CD for you. I could see Santa after all the toys have been delivered. kicking off his boots, pouring himself a nice glass of milk, snuggling with the Mrs., and chilling to Diana Krall's Christmas Songs.Free Music Review: LUSCIOUS

From someone who owns over twenty Christmas albums, I don't take my Christmas music lightly. Calling this album the BEST Christmas album I've ever heard, therefore, shouldn't be taken as an exaggeration. And, by BEST, I mean the most well thought out (in terms of the songs they include), the best performed (Krall is one of a kind in her genre--she's up there with the big boys), and the best choice to play during Christmas dinner, since, after all, most people will only listen to Christmas albums while they're sitting around eating turkey.
It's subtle and luscious and smooth and it can slip under the radar but it'll touch some notes that'll make you sit up and pay attention.
No more words. The only way to truly appreciate this album is buying it. You won't regret it.

This and the Vince Guarldi Charlie Brown Christmas album are the only two Christmas albums that should be given to everybody who ever bought a CD player, Ipod, whatever.

I proudly listen to this album at non-Christmas times of the year, by the way. When it plays at work, someone almost always stops and says "Who is THAT?"; never "Why are you listening to Christmas music in June?". That's the power of the voice and arrangements we're dealing with, here.
Thank you for coming into my life, if only as a beautiful voice. And what a voice!

I think Diana Krall is an impressive artist with a truly beautiful voice and possibly a well-trained one at that. There is no put on here to accentuate some false sense of tastelessly trendy rubbish that has crept into and has been dominating mainstream music for some time now. You get what she has and I like the sound. There is a true sophistication that is captivating and satisfies that which has been long missing in "Christmas Songs" and this is delivered not only in her voice but with the accompanying musical arrangements as well. This album posses the artistic finesse and maturity that we grew up with a hint of Krall's own genuine playful approach to some of the selections here. This is an extremely well conceived and delivered CD.

Several years ago, we bought a Diana Krall album and attached was a bonus Christmas CD with 3 or 4 songs. We've been waiting for Diana to do a full length Christmas CD. This album is the best by the best. Diana Krall has once again outdone herself.
We saw her perform at CNU in Newport News several years ago. As she did that night and has done on her other albums, she has found the perfect mix of upbeat sounds with the smooth, soulful sounds that we've come to know as Diana Krall. Her rendition of "I'll be home for Christmas" is fantastic. This will be the perfect Christmas gift for anyone who loves the sound of Diana Krall. Every song is beautiful.
