Free Music Notes for From This Moment onFree Music Review: Vintage Krall! Represents the new "Old Guard of Jazz" Hit: 5 Stars
Another unbelievable CD from the prodigious Diana Krall!!! One of my favorites already! The sensiivity of her vocals, diction that tells ancient stories-- puts me in a faraway place with each well constructed arrangement and phenomenal delivery. "Little Girl Blue" is one of the saddest songs I have ever heard and Krall makes you feel this one as her voice fades into the faintest whisper, "Count your fingers..." She swings on "Day and Day Out" and you can't help but dance and know that love is once again around the corner. She has claimed her place as world famous jazz musician at the top of her game, the "new old guard". She brings me joy and to my knees with this fantastic album. A must for any 'dinner at eight', wine tasting on a roof top overlooking the city skyline, or rainy afternoon, all alone. BRAVO!!!
Free Music Review: NOBODY DOES IT BETTER THAN DIANA! Hit: 5 Stars
Diana Krall beats anybody else in her Category hands down, and as long as her hands are down on those 88's, magic happens! Her song stylings are so unique, and full orchestra augments beautifully her sultry tones. Julie London and Jeri Southern come to mind, but Diana is in a class by herself. If you KNOW good music when you hear it, and APPRECIATE an Artist at work, you will UNDERSTAND and therefore love this CD. For those who "get it", no explanation is necessary. For those who DON'T, no explanation will do; (A note to Miss Krall's critics: IF YOU CAN'T SING OR PLAY AS WELL, GO TO YOUR ROOM AND STAY THERE!) For the rest of you, a standout track here is "How Insensitive", but you can't go wrong with anything on this 1st Class offering from one of Music's Finest! Do something nice for your ears today - BUY IT!
Free Music Review: Her best CD! Hit: 5 Stars
George Benson once said "people are going to remember you/your show, NOT for how much you impressed them, but for how Good you made them feel". I'm a strong believer of that theory. And this CD, makes a PERFECT example.
I own all her Cd's (I hope so) and I've never had as much fun since "Stepping Out". I went to Tower Records and listened to, pretty much the whole cd. I thought I'll get it next time, because I was trying to save up for a family trip. I went home... and it haunted me! I reached for it in my purse to play in my car on the way home, thinking that I bought it. I went home and made dinner, and again, wanting to play it. And then I dreamt all night about it! So. I had to buy it first thing in the morning. NO REGRETS. I had to have it. And I'm glad I do. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Buy it.
Free Music Review: from this moment on Hit: 5 Stars
okay, no one else should cover great songs. nobody, and i mean nobody, sings "from this moment on" like ms. krall. what an amazing talent!
i have been in love with her voice since i first listened to that mid 1990s CD "only trust your heart" and it is definitely a growing voice, with more depth every album.
you know how you normally sing a long with songs you know, and hence don't listen to the cover artist? well, what is amazing about this album is that you don't sing along, because you enjoy the sweetness of her voice and the way she does that 'deep' woman voice. it is as if all the songs are brand new. i say, genius!
Free Music Review: Diana Krall Hits Another Home Run Hit: 5 Stars
Diana Krall is for real. Not just another pretty face. This is one talented woman. This album is awesome in 2 ways...First an excellent quality recording for us audiophiles mastered by the MASTER himself Doug Sax...Signature Doug Sax...smooth, perfectly balanced in every way. Second a wonderful performance with again John Clayton doing magic with that standup bass...This guy is the greatest bass player since James Jamerson. Diana sounds smooth and her delivery is never overblown and overdone. The piano playing is spot on and things really come together nicely . First class CD and thank you Diana for the music.
