Free Music Notes for From This Moment onFree Music Review: Is This Her Best Effort Yet? Hit: 5 Stars
This is one of Krall's few albums where most of the material is not familiar to me yet it stands out as her best album yet. Instead of the trio she used in her earlier sessions, she is again backed by a massive orchestra which can fill your listening area with such wonderful music. Some high points on this album such as 'Isn't It A lovely Day', 'Day In And Day Out' and 'Come Dance With Me'. Carressing voice and big bands are a winner every time. Keep it up Diana!
Free Music Review: One of my faves.... Hit: 5 Stars
I got this cd when it came out and instantly loved it. For me, it's got the perfect balance of sweet songs and upbeat and it just flows. There's nothing better than a cd that flows. The songs are wonderful, but some of my favorites were "Isn't it a Lovely Day" and "I Was Doing Allright". When I'm in a jazz mood, I'll put this on and it works every single time. If you have loved any of her other work, you won't be dissappointed!
Free Music Review: She's the Best! Hit: 5 Stars
If you are a Diana Krall fan you must add this CD to your collection. Diana continues to hold first place in female vocalists performing today, with her understated elegance of phrasing, her piano playing, and her knowing interpretation of the music she loves. Diana belongs in the company of the greats; Ella, Sarah, Rosemary, Carmen, Billie. As always, the choice of songs in this collection is excellent!
Free Music Review: her best yet Hit: 5 Stars
it has been amazing to listen to diana krall mature as an artist. on "From This Moment On" she really showcases her amazing ability to take a standard and make it her own. Those who love her earlier efforts and were disappointed a bit by the original songs on "The Girl In The Other Room" will be psyched to hear her return. truly an amazing effort and likely to be a classic for the ages!! a million stars
Free Music Review: One of her finest Hit: 5 Stars
As a jazz record reviewer, one of the plagues of my life is the proliferation of weakly talented white-chick jazz singers. Diana Krall is one of the more reliable antidotes for that malaise, and this album is truly one of her finest. Her version of Irving Berlin's "Isn't It A Lovely Day" is reason enough to pop for this disc; it's one of the most timeless jazz vocals I've ever heard.
