Are you still reading???? Okay, so I'll tell you my reason why. Reason(s) why. 5.1 sound. DTS. Different (some versions better to my ears/psyche) than the CD. Flavor. Beautiful production. Did I mention DTS - you gotta hear this in DTS. And she and her band deserve and have earned every penny you could spend on her (gratuitously inciting flaming).
I am just hoping that she will give us the opportunity to have DVD's covering her 'Girl in the Other Room' and her 'From This Moment On'.

I do enjoy Ms. Krall's singing but for me it's the incredible interplay between the musicians (including Krall's piano) the merits the 5 stars. I acually have the DVD which I highly recommend. Anthony Wilson not only plays brillantly but gets the best guitar tone of any other live recording I've heard. Jeff Hamilton and John Clayton are tight and telepathic - pure genuis in rhythm. Both Claus Ogerman and Allan Broadbent offer great arrangements and work the Orchestra deftly. And Diana sings. The production is perfect. I've got to admit that most of the CD's I've bought lately put me to sleep. Diana Krall~"Live in Paris" is thrilling! I sang vocals in my jazz choir in high school and so I appreciate the upbeat vocals in this collection. Every song is a hit or made to sound like Diana has made it her own. Ella and Etta make room in the hall of fame. My favorites are "I've Got You Under My Skin", "The Look of Love", and "Just the Way You Are". But, I really like the whole CD a lot. A nice live recording by Diana Krall, the great jazz vocalist and pianist whose sultry, sexy voice makes any song she sings a special occasion. Diana is just wonderful as she delivers her standards such as "Let's Fall in Love" and "'S Wonderful" to an enthusiastic audience, backed by an all-star band. The encore of "A Case of You" is perhaps the highlight of the recording, although the studio version of "Just the Way You Are" could have been omitted. No matter, this is a great session that features one of jazz' best talents today.Free Music Review: Simply Fabulous

My reason for purchasing this CD was because I wanted an audio version of the even more astounding DVD of this same title. The CD does not have all of the songs captured on the DVD but the producers didn't, and couldn't have, gone wrong with the selections. Add to nothing less than a magnificent performance. superlative recording with all the punch, brilliance and subtlety of a live recording and you have one of those rare finds that more than justify its Grammy Awards! I can't rate or recommend this item high enough.
