Free Music Review: One Album I Never Get Tired Of

Lucky me, this was my introduction to Diana Krall, and to be honest, none of her other albums have surpassed this one in quality in my opinion.
These are primarily jazz standards and very singable. I find myself belting them out every time I listen to it.
I'm not normally a fan of live albums, I only know of one other that is fantastic, but I love, love, love this album!
I don't see how anyone who loves jazz could possibly be disappointed.

I steadfastly refused to jump on the Diana Krall bandwagon. I tried and enjoyed a number of the other wave of female jazz/pop singers. I really liked a lot of that stuff. And I thought I was avoiding a middle-of-the-road crowd favorite without much to offer. As is so often the case I WAS WRONG AND I AM SORRY. Live In Paris is magnificent. That voice, that confidence, that attitude - it's all good. The only thing potentially better would be to actually be in Paris at a Diana Krall concert. Enjoy!Free Music Review: Absolutely Wonderful

I would give this album four stars alone for the absolutely beautiful cover of one of my favorite songs of all time, Joni Mitchell's 'A Case of You'. But fortunately, it has a lot of other great moments. After hearing this I would defiinitely shell out money to see Krall in concert. I love her cover of 'Fly Me To The Moon' as well. She has a very rich voice, and she decorates it with stacatto notes throughout. I plan to check out her other albums. My first reaction when I unwrapped the CD was that most of these songs were on other CDs I owned of hers. But the more I listen, the more addicted I get to the energy and talent that is there. I saw her a few years ago when she was still shy about performing. That's changed. She is sometimes a bit overproduced, and I love the raw energy of this performance plus the added bonus of hearing not only her great talent on the piano but that of the extraordinary musicians who back her up.Free Music Review: Double Dynamo

Diana Krall is a double dynamo.Her "Live In Paris CD" is reminiscent of the George Shearing and Peggy Lee recording that I bought many years ago.However,Diana plays both parts.On the back of the CD jacket she is referred to as the Queen Of Piano Jazz.She is that as well as a first-rate singer.Even though I own the CD,I feel compelled to don the earphones and listen to it every time I enter a Border's store.It's also my Christmas present to everybody this year.
