What an amazing recording this is. Sonic perfection as well as as musical soul......... maybe the best recorded live record i've ever heard.Diana Krall has built her reputation as a musician on her live performances and now we finally get to take one home with us. She is singing so well and her piano playing gets better every time I hear her....Kudos to Diana!
This proves that while she is beautiful, she is most certainly a world class musician. If you have seen her live you will definately want this CD. If you haven't seen her live, what are you waiting for :) in the meantime get this CD to see what you are missing.

The music of Diana Krall is not something you listen to. It will touch your soul and will stay there forever. When experiencing the songs like "a Case of you" and "maybe you'll be there" you even don't have to see the dvd. She will project the images in your head as clear as cristal. But of course you want to see this beautifull woman touching the keys of here piano from where those wonderfull tones enter your ears. Sometimes making you swing like there is no tomorow and the next song you will have to whipe some tears from your eyes. It's marvelous.Thank you Diana for your beautifull music.

I have been wondering for some time what the Hype about Diana Krall was all about. I've bought a couple of her albums, and always thought yeah OK so what! As a Jazz collector, I felt that I was missing something. I wandered into a store the other day and saw the DVD playing on a BIG HD TV Flat screen in a surround sound room. I walked across the street and bought it. Here is Krall swinging the room, no fluff, no bubblegum, just GREAT jazz. Hope the next album is as good, now I want to see her live! This will be become one of those great Live Jazz albums up there with anything you want to name!

JazBrat's review is not quite correct:Most of the material here is not included on the Video/DVD version of these appearances - this CD is no clone of the DVD - I believe only 2 or 3 tracks are also on the DVD. also included is a bonus studio track (cover of Just The Way You Are - from an upcoming film)
Word is that Verve Records recorded 4 nights and Tommy LiPuma (producer) and Diana picked their favorite tracks - with an apparent focus on her small group performances.

Last week I received this CD as a gift. I think I finally know why I like Ms. Krall so much.
Besides the given that Ms. Krall is a wonderful Jazz pianist, and that she is very attractive, what I think is her real talent, is that she delivers on the emotion of a song so well that I feel that as she is singing, it is meant just for me, with a touch of wit just below the surface, like you are sharing a private joke. I don't know if that was articulated well enough to make sense, but there you go.
As to this CD, it is wonderful! Case closed!
