Free Music Notes for Quiet NightsFree Music Review: Loved "Quiet NIghts" by Diana Krall Hit: 5 Stars
Diana Krall sings "Quiet NIghts" with a such tender passion with her sultry voice. Her fingers on her piano takes over when her voice is quiet. We can feel what she feels when she plays the piano and beutifully lets us know how she feels through her piano notes. The sultry voice I do not have to tell you how it sounds. I loved the whole CD and every song she sung! Each song has a special meaning to me! .. This truly is a different Diana in Rio than I have heard before. For me I love her choice of all the songs, the words in the songs and how she sings them. I just want to sit quietly and listen to each word of the song and enjoy them over and over again. .. I know you will appreciate this DVD as I have! ! ! Diana, our family was the way yours was - music playing in our homes - filled with beautiful sounds. We yet have some of our have piano players left and a violinist but no singers (although my sister and I would love to sing a song)! Goog Luck with this DVD and enjoy this great time in your life with your children and husband. Again, thank you!!

Free Music Review: I love the music of Diana Krall Hit: 5 Stars
I love the music of Diana Krall. Her music is so soothing and romantic. I have to be in a romantic or relaxed mood to listen to her music, and I am most of the time. I love "Walk On By". I know this song has been covered by many other artists, but Diana has the ability to make a song her own. "Guess I'll Hang My Tears Out To Dry" is a new song to me. Diana makes heart break sound so beautiful on this song. "The Boy From Ipanema" is Diana's take on a classic song about a sexy man who makes women swoon. I love the Spanish track "Este Seu Olhar". "I've Grown Accustomed His Face" is a song dedicated to her husband Elvis Costello. I don't understand a word of the Spanish song "Este Seu Olhar" but it sounds lovely. "So Nice" has a light breezy sound. Diana covers "How Do You Mend A Broken Heart" so well. I almost forgot what the original sounds like. "Too Marvelous For Words" and "Quiet Nights" are perfect songs to listen to while snuggling with someone special. I love her piano playing throughout this disc.
Free Music Review: Smooth & Elegant, But Read The Title Hit: 5 Stars
Diana's smooth, elegant vocals more than sustain this quiet collection of favorites and standards. This is a lush, richly-produced body of music that certainly merits a place in your collection; it's very well done.
Having said that, this entire CD is about 3 clicks past mellow. It is definitely a tribute to "quiet" nights. As an avid listener and Diana Krall fan, I kept waiting for something up-tempo, something with more keyboard presence, something lively and fresh and infused with energy.
This is a slow-dance collection, a 5-star CD, wonderfully done, and I'm glad to own it. But I won't be listening in the car ---- not if I prefer to stay awake. This isn't driving music.
Be advised: The title "Quiet Nights" is entirely correct. Listen at home, by the fireplace, perhaps with someone you love. It's beautiful music, done in a well-beyond-mellow way.
Free Music Review: better and better Hit: 5 Stars
Diana Krall may well be the First Lady of jazz these days, both for her extraordinary piano playing and for a voice that seems almost accidentally beautiful. Then there's her face! A high degree of taste coupled with a sincere humility about the inspiration of her idols makes her the epitome of the growing artist in line with those who came long before her. She also shows the resilience of the American Song Book, and here she works herself into the bossa nova music that has served so many artists so well for so long. The arrangements are superb, her piano playing impeccable, and those who would criticize her for "returning" to the lush sound of ten years ago should realize that a style is something one evolves, not something merely to fall back on. Her combo is, as ever, sensitive to her every nuance.
Free Music Review: essential Diana Krall Hit: 5 Stars
I have to admit I read several extremely negative reviews on Ms. Krall's latest effort, "Quiet Nights", before making my purchase last week. Like many, I pretty much own everything she's ever done, and have never been disappointed. Was this going my first let down?? Those reviews sure had me worried.
If you an ardent fan, worry not, because Diana once again delivers. If you like a soothing female voice, singing well arranged numbers backed by magnificent strings, then you cannot go wrong with "Quiet Nights". Personally, I even prefer the return of the strings section vs. the brassier tone of her most recent efforts. I also like the fact Diana does quite a bit of silky piano work on each song.
Forget these reviews. "Quiet Nights" is a winner.
