Free Music Review: I thought I owned "The look of Love"

Its worth 5 stars BUT I have 5 CD/DVD of Dianas & 13 CD's of Claus I love them both very much BUT with all that BRAZIL & the world of POP has to offer from the banks of yester years to present time why an old style CD for after 12 midnight? Its just to close to "OLD" DK & CO I expected something NEW from both conducter & singer, they have the ability!!! Hope the DVD shows up better???
The second day and the Cd is weaving its magic! my partner loves it so maybe give it time not with standing I do wish it was 2009 not a repeat of yester years (a marketing blunder!!!)

Great music! The song selection, arrangements and Diana Krall's husky whisper of a voice set a wonderful mood. I use the random mode on my CD player and, each time a selection from this CD plays, I have to stop what I'm doing and listen. The bossa nova beat on many of the selections add to the mood. The instrumental break on some of the songs is excellent and I congratulate the arranger for letting them run on rather than cutting them off. It is hard picking a favorite song because they are all good.
Congratulations to all those involved in making this album.

Diana Krall's "Quiet Nights" CD is absolutely beautiful. Diana's very sensual voice comes through repeatedly along with the equally sensuous piano, bass and percussion accompaniment. Many of the tracks I have on other albums but Diana and her Group's interpretations on this album make it the pinnacle of this style of music in my collection obtained over more than 40 years. I'm eagerly awaiting the Music DVD entitled, "Live In Rio", due to be released in Australia later this month.

I met Diana Krall in person WOW! after the, Ann Arbor, Hill Aud.show 6/26/09. She was very sweet & kind, had I listened to her new CD Quit Nights before hand I surely would have ask for a hug :)At first the songs seemed a little to slow and quit but that all changed as I replayed & replayed "Quit Nights" hearing more and more fine details only Diana can bring to the music.
You will love this CD, I give it a she is pure magic.....what a gift to the arts! what a gift to the world!

On the bonus features from the DVD "Live in Rio," Diana describes this CD as a love letter. She expresses that on this CD. It's a love letter from the other artists and arranger, producer, and everyone else involved too. The lush, lazy, quiet spaces in this music resonate with me and my wife. If you're looking for high energy bop you need to look elsewhere. This CD is entitled "Quiet Nights" for a reason. Give it a chance--it grows on you with multiple listenings. It helps if you listen when in a quiet mood.
