I am amazed at the others that do not like this album. I feel like we are not reviewing the same album. These reviews prompted me to write mine. It is super album, and she has shown me another side of her singing talent. The songs are a wonderful selection that brings out her true talents. I hope she does more. She makes these songs feel!! Her renditions are both moving and touching. I do not know what others were looking for but to me all I can say is WOW!!!! Is something wrong with me? Why do so many reviewers dislike this album? I don't care for the majority of Ms. Krall's previous work but decided to give her new alubm a chance, and was immediately delighted. So soft, so relaxing - so soothing that I fell into a delicious mid-afternoon nap midway through the first time I heard it. It's lush without being smothering and beautiful without being pretentious, and has become one of my favorite albums. This is apparently a difficult recording for some to get - considering the negative reviews. It is personal, quiet, all those things - but it drips with emotion. In many ways, this is Diana Krall's most obvious tribute to her mentors - London and Lee especially. Even the album cover recalls the heyday of the great torch singers - a pantheon in which Krall belongs herself. This may not be quite as accessible or obvious as some of her earlier works, but it will repay the careful listener.Free Music Review: Quiet Nights

What a " Star", Diana Krall is seductive and dazzling in her Quiet Nights album!!! The BEST jazz pianist of our day! She is luminous. Diana's Quiet Nights is a romantic evening for lovers! It's hard to go wrong with such a fine talent as Krall. And she hits the mark with this simultaneously seductive and somber collection. Producer Tommy LiPuma, a master at these kind of projects, surrounds Krall with just the right players and sound. This CD is worth it alone for hearing the still brilliant Claus Ogerman's orchestral arrangements. They inter play perfectly with Krall's masterful phrasing. Find a quiet time and get lost in the artistry that is brimming from this fine CD.
