I love this CD..it is so sexy and smoky like being in a barely lit bar and just sitting there with your eyes closed and enjoying every note. It has two of my favorites songs, Love Letters and Cry me a River. I fell in love with this CD and it is all I listen to now....Diana Krall is so warm and sultry and makes you feel every touch of the piano. I can't wait for the next wonders of Diana. Thanks Diana for a great and awesome CD. A little history on the song Love Letters, it is from the movie of the same name from 1945 starring Joseph Cotton and Jennifer Jones (great movie). The song and movie were both nominated for an Academy Award. The song was written by Victor Young and lyrics by Edward Heyman. I love the ending notes of this song, it is just beautiful.Free Music Review: She Did It!!

Diana Krall has a magnificent voice. Why I thought she was going to have a problem following up, "When I Look In Your Eyes", I'll never know because she did it. "The Look of Love" is an amazing follow up. This woman is great but she just seems to get better and better. Just listen and let her voice do the rest. She has incredible timing, wonderful musicians, and a voice that goes to that place in me that great music goes. This CD, "The Look of Love", brings up emotions in me I didn't know I had. I would like to pick out one or two songs that I think are extra special but I can't because all the songs are extra special. Diana Krall is real. She isn't playing a game called jazz, she is jazz. Diana's gone pop all right. But couldn't we see it coming? She's got everything it takes, a great voice, looks, a musician's savvy. Who can blame her for wanting to make some real money. I heard she performed on 300 days last year. You can't keep that up. She's 36. Her mentor Nat Cole made the same leap in the 1940s. When he came out with "Nature Boy" I was almost sick. He then abandoned jazz and went from being a first-rate obscure piano player to being a hugely popular second-rate singer. At least Diana will never be second rate.And after all, singers can do both styles. The great ladies of the past generation all did (Billy, Sarah, Ella, Carmen MacRae). But I hope Diana comes out with solo piano next.

I am urged to write a review in response to fellow writers who it seems miss the point. These are standard tunes song as only Krall can. Her voice is unique, her interpretations are unique as well. The orchestration is lush and sensitive and with great beat on the bossa nova style renditions.I have played Besame Mucho on a Latin Jazz and Son Radio Program. The publics' response is enthusiastic. The pronuntiation is totaly irrelevant. She is not a Spanish teacher but a singer that conveys the magnifecent bolero feeling. I have seen her in person: What a beauty and charismatic performer she is. Her dress is most welcome. I recommend this albun highly, it will grow on you as good music always does.

Perfect!How else could you describe this flawless,inspirig and heavenly trip down nostalgia?The selection of songs are superb and being a huge Diana Krall and Burt Bacharach fan I should say nothing will bring me more joy than to hear her sing my favourite Bacharach tune The Look Of Love.The rest of the songs are equally good and she brings in a breath of fresh air to the Jazz/Pop scene with her signature voice.
The engineering in this album is done by the same guy responsible for working with Jobim on Wave and Tide albums so you do not have to worry about how your favourite tunes are going to sound.
Whether you want to relax,ejnoy or even have a romantic evening this is the perfect choice.
