Free Music Notes for The Look Of LoveFree Music Review: The Look of Love Hit: 5 Stars
My music listening started as a teenager in 1940. In the Navy barracks in 1945 I was introduced to classical music which I still like a lot, I have favorites of course. Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald have been my favorites since 1940, that is until Diana Krall came along. I still like them but "When I Look into Your Eyes" came to my attention, I began to wonder. Then "The Look of Love" was published, I purchased it and started to listen, almost every day, the more I heard it, the more I liked it. I am convinced that this is the best album I have ever heard, bar none. I like big orchestras and good singing. This one is the greatest. Whoever did the arranging deserves a lot of credit. The earlier albums she did leave a lot to be desired. Most people who like jazz should listen to this.
Free Music Review: Diana Krall is in class by herself Hit: 5 Stars
Two weeks ago I had never heard of Diana Krall but read online how good a singer she was so I heard the sound clips from The Look of Love and instantly became a Diane Krall fan. After buying the CD and hearing the complete songs I liked the music even better. The song selection was superb and Cry Me A River was a perfect example of how vocals should be mixed with music as Diana Krall sang this perfectly and the music didn't overpower the vocals. Don't know when I have been more happy with a purchase of a CD. I have played it over and over and yet am not anywhere close to being tired of it. Diana Krall is in a class by herself when it comes to singing a song with emotion and her piano playing matches vocals very well....would recommend Look Of Love CD to anyone that loves soothing music.
Free Music Review: Yeah...Waiting for "The Look of Love, Vol 2" Hit: 5 Stars
Well done. I'm looking for "The Look Of Love, Vol. 2". What many refer to as the elevator or Muzak type of sound I just so happen to enjoy. I not too long ago discovered Bossa Nova, starting with one of one of the masters, Mr. Jobim. I finally caught "The Wave" and have been surfing along ever since. With all of the loud, blaring music we've seen over the past couple decades, it is nice to hear a popular artist step back and just simply peform something beauiful. If you would like to sit back and enjoy a nice piece of work (with strings included). then I would recommend it. It may not suit the jazz purist, but I don't think that was the goal. Though the average rating might not be that high, for some reason it is one of the top sellers in the jazz category...it just might be worth your while.
Free Music Review: Look of Love Hit: 5 Stars
This is an extremely good album to listen to after a stressful day. Very soothing. Diana krall has such a beautiful relaxing, sexy voice that she cannot help but lulls and soothes you. Best tracks on this CD are 'cry me a river'; 'look of love' ; "S' Wonderful" and one of my favorite 'Maybe you be there'.I also have her earlier CD's; like Stepping Out. Not many stores carries this CD but REALLY REALLY good CD. One that peps you up than soothes you. She really swings on that CD. Her rendition on Body and Soul was really terrific. I also heard Billie Holliday's rendition but Diana's rendition was so much better even though I think Billy Holliday other works are fantastic. Bottom Line is that you have to listen to Diana Krall stepping out CD (remaster version). It's really wonderful.
Free Music Review: Melancholy and perfect Hit: 5 Stars
I'd rate this with 10 stars if the option were given! I bought this a couple of months ago, and I already know it's one of the essential CDs I'd want with me on a marooned island. Arrangements, chords and Diana's sultry voice weave a fabric of lush richness. Melancholy and perfect. Such music fine-tunes good emotions and will warmly greet you when you're sad. Some music I love for it's energy and novelty, but they don't necessarily possess high repeat-listenability as does this; high praise indeed. Good musical endings are a lost art; I find the way several of these tracks trail off leave me so tranquil that I turn off the sound source and savor the gentle, heart-felt ambience for a moment before resuming. My other discovery is When I Look In Your Eyes. You're spoiling me, Diana.
