Free Music Notes for Life for RentFree Music Review: Worth every penny Hit: 5 Stars
I really enjoyed Dido's frist CD and was really excited when her new cd "Life for Rent" came out. It has some truly incredible songs on the album and is great to sit down and work to. The songs sound svery acoustic and help me to relax when working and studying. White Flag her first single is the best song on the album but there are other potential singles on the album. I can honestly say I don't know all the names of the songs as I always just listen to the CD as a whole. The second track stoned is my current favourite on the CD, the song sounds a little more upbeat then the other songs on the CD but different which makes it stand out. Life for rent is an interesting song with sensational lyrics that really make you think, well written and a great song. Mary's In India wasn't my favourite song when i first listened to the CD but it is growing on me and is a decent song...not my favourtie but still good. Sand in my shoes is an upbeat catchy song, makes you want to smile when you hear it. I think they saved one of the best songs for last, see the sun is a beautiful song and although the CD is finished when you hear this song I can't wait to hear it every time i put the CD on. Then of course there is a surprize...the secret song, good song. I was very excited when i first realized there was a secret song, by no means a bad song very relaxing and nice to listen to. Overall the CD is incredible and great to listen to, i LOVE it! (Even though I didn't talk about all the songs on the album I still enjoy all of them. I just wanted to highlight the BEST songs on the album and the ones that are really worth listening to)
Free Music Review: AMAZING! AN INCREDIBLE FOLLOW UP TO 'NO ANGEL'... Hit: 5 Stars
Dido's new cd, Life For Rent, is breattakingly beautiful in so many ways. The songs are all full of emotian and all have that soul stirring depth that we all grew so familiar with through NO ANGEL. This album is so much better in a lot of ways. There are a lot more trip-hop induced beats on this album than there were on her debut, and it all flows together in such a ethereal way. Stand Out songs to me are... Stoned-which has a more danceable feel to it-and the best way I would describe it to someone familiar with NO ANGEL would be to say it's along the same lines as the bonus track, TAKE MY HAND from that album. This may be my favorite song on this new album. Don't Leave Home-This song is beautiful...full of emotian and power. I love this song. I was blown away by this song the first time I heard it, and continue to be in awe of the way this song makes me feel. White Flag-The first single, and a truly amazing song. Very much from the same vein as HERE WITH ME. See The Sun-The last song on the album and containing a bonus track. A great song and definetly one I will be listening to over and over. Overall-this album is truly a work of art in so many ways. Dido has beat the sophmore curse and created a follow up to something that was so amazing and unique that it was unlikely she could pull this one off! This album has something for everyone...Danceable emotive hits like Stoned...Powerful heart wrenching moments like WHITE FLAG, subtle ballads like the gentle MARY'S IN INDIA and trip hopping beats like those in SEE YOU WHEN YOU'RE 40. This album will be my favorite for a long time. BUY IT! YOU WONT REGRET IT!!!!!
Free Music Review: What a Good CD Hit: 5 Stars
I loved Dido's first CD, and I didn't know if she had it in her to make a terrific sophomore album. Well, Dido proves here that she has the talent to stick around for years to come. Every song works here. The best thing about Dido is that her songs are deceptively simple. She tackles some pretty dark themes, and you don't really notice that until you listen to the album over and over. "White Flag" was a great choice for a first single. It shows that Dido is one of those artists who is able to sing about her shortcomings in a relationship rather than blaming someone else. There are so many good songs here, and it is for that reason alone I think you should buy this album. Dido is here to stay, and it'd be too bad if you didn't pick up this very good album.1)White Flag: a really good song. 2)Stoned: I love the beat. 3)Life for Rent: I love the meaning behind the song. 4)Mary's in India: a great showcase for her voice. The ending is a little surprising. 5)See You When You're 40: another really cool song. 6)Don't Leave Home: one of my favorites. 7)Who Makes You Feel: I love the way her voices builds on this song. The beat is cool too. 8)Sand in my Shoes: you can tell she really feels this song. It's very good. 9)Do You Have a Little Time: another good song. 10)This Land is Mine: another good showcase for her voice. 11)See the Sun: this song is a great way to end the album. Very uplifting and terrific. One of my favorites. HIDDEN TRACK: a really good, simple song. It takes a while to start, so don't turn off your CD player. This is a really good CD. I highly recommend it.

Free Music Review: Dido's Perfect Follow Up to 'No Angel.' Hit: 5 Stars
Let me join in the chorus of five-star reviews to praise this perfect pop album. Dido (whose full name is Dido Florian Cloud de Bounevialle O'Malley Armstrong) first caught my attention when I heard her song "Thank You" on the Sliding Doors soundtrack (which Eminem sampled in his UK number-one single, "Stan"). However, her breakthrough occurred a year later with the release of No Angel, which has since sold twelve million copies worldwide. Dido's second album, Life for Rent, was released in September, 2003. I first heard its hit single, "White Flag" while walking down a street in Paris, and recognized Dido's familiar voice immediately. (I will always associate the song with that moment in Paris, and the lyrics will always remind me with an old love interest who once lived in Nice.) Life for Rent picks up where No Angel left off with its poetic, melancholic at times, trip hop songs. Dido's third, long-awaited album is currently in production and is due later this year (September 23, 2008). The complete setlist of sure-to-get-stuck-in-your-head-songs includes:
1. White Flag
2. Stoned
3. Life For Rent
4. Mary's in India
5. See You When You're 40
6. Don't Leave Home
7. Who Makes You Feel
8. Sand In My Shoes
9. Do You Have a Little Time
10. This Land is Mine
11. See the Sun (followed by 2:01 seconds of silence and then the hidden track "Closer").
