Free Music Review: Safely the Best Dido So Far
Hit: 4 Stars

Dido's a daddy's girl. Her big loss, the death of father, is a big gain for listeners. The British songstress dug deep and came up with an introspective, late-night record which nevertheless crackles with melodic ideas and musical invention. Don't expect another "Thankyou" or "White Flag" around, though. Nothing may catch your attention immediately, but this is a polished, meaningful music that sounds best in your headphones and improves with repeated spins. From the deceitfully playful gem "Quiet Times" through meticulously arranged "Look No Further" and "The Day Before the Day" to sprawling, Celtic-tinged "Grafton Street" and hypnotic closer "Northern Skies", Dido invites you to explore her inner world. It is a brave, full, although not too optimistic record, which, nevertheless, the true fans of the singer should immediately embrace.

Free Music Review: Gorgeous album by a gorgeous woman...
Hit: 4 Stars

At least 2/3 of the songs are excellent, the others are ok but not horrible, not total filler or anything. The excellent songs, like "Northern Skies," "Grafton Street," and "Burning Love" are immensely atmospheric and can be listened to over and over without tiring of them. I am simply in love with the sound of Dido's voice. Lyrics are evocative and poetic, yet unpretentious, not too artsy-fartsy or anything. The trip-hop beats are simple yet powerful. In many ways I actually prefer this her latest album to the previous two, which were perhaps a bit more pop-like and radio-friendly.

Overall, Dido's music at its best has a sublime balance of soft and strong that is extremely addictive.

Free Music Review: Dido Safe Trip Home is a safe bet for dido fans
Hit: 4 Stars

This disc features several good songs including "don't believe in love "quiet times" and never want to say it's love, and us two little gods. Mellow music and easy to listen to.Classic Dido with her sexy voice and nice orchestral instrumentals. With the chanting choruses that remain consistent throughout each song. Well put together groupings of songs. The melodies are fantastic and familiar to other works in past. Generally speaking, I liked Burin' Love and Northern Skies also. The whole album is very enjoyable basically. I found it to be a good value for the price.

Free Music Review: Classic Dido
Hit: 4 Stars

I've been a fan of Dido since her first album, and while Life for Rent is still my favorite, this one is right up there. It's schmaltzy and emotional, her voice has the same great softly-haunting quality, and the lyrics are clever and get you knotted up and feeling slightly melancholy, but in a sort of enjoyable way.

So yeah, I'm still a fan. I can see where some people would say this was boring, but if you like Dido, you probably will like this. I particularly connected with Grafton Street, which reminded me a lot of her older songs.

Free Music Review: Go figure
Hit: 4 Stars

I've never considered myself a Dido fan. I've liked, even loved a few songs off her previous albums, but to listen to the albums in their entirety was always a huge bore where most songs were just too weak and run of the mill.

Not so with this album - from the moment I began listening I knew I was in for something different. This album is beautiful with so much depth and great songwriting.

I can now count myself one of her many fans and can only hope that she continues to produce work of this caliber.
