I really like how Rowan plays on this one. One of the few great underrated players that knows how to put an intro, a middle part and a peak on his few seconds of solo on every song. Every solo is a complete song in it's own way. Nuno Bettencourt can sometimes do this but not all the time. Most players can groove Ok, maybe shred really fast but does not make it the way Rowan plays it. Dio is very strong in here which is already a given. The songs are slower and has a doom feel to it. Top favorites are Wild One, Between Two Hearts ( so low and heavy ) Lock Up The Wolves, Night Music, another slow song that builds up so good you will find yourself dancing and headbanging by the middle to the end of the song. Evil on Queen Street another one that builds up so good, so low, so heavy and groovy that gives Dio the enough space to show his amazing singing. Dio screams like there is no tomorrow here by the middle of the song and some more before the song ends. This album is a GROWER...you would have to listen to it several times and let it grow on you. I have all of Dio's album including his albums with Rainbow and Black Sabbath. Believe me this is a keeper. You can't go wrong with the price of the CD on Amazon too.
