For anyone who even remotely likes the movie "Dirty Dancing," this CD is a must-have. Without a doubt, it's an amazing deal! The 20th Anniversary Edition has an invaluable collection of songs -- far more than the soundtracks released beforehand. Amazon was offering the CD for less than $10 when I purchased it, and it made for a perfect gift on a small budget!
If you don't already own the DVD, you might want to pick that one up too... Because after you listen to this, you'll be left with wicked nostalgia!

The Vestron film DIRTY DANCING is already twenty years old,in the aspect of production. August 14 marks the twentieth anniversary of its theatrical release. This CD features at least most of the material from the two soundtrack albums,including MORE DIRTY DANCING. The most memorable track,of course,is the Bill Medley/Jennifer Warnes duet (I'VE HAD THE)TIME OF MY LIFE. I remember watching the movie when It first came on t.v. and I loved it. I thought it was a great movie. The only thing that I didn't realize was that Patrick Swayze wrote and performed the song She is Like The Wind. It wasn't until I read a book and watched the movie again that I realized he was singing he is a really good singer. I enjoyed watching the movie and I loved the music that was in it. Especially, "I've Had the Time of My Life". That is my favorite song and I just had to have the CD. I did some research and this CD had all the songs from the movie on it. I couldn't wait for it to arrive. When it did, I listened to it and loved the quality of it. Absolutely one of the best soundtracks EVER! It's a super selection of great songs, with only one "ringer": "You Don't Own Me" is a remake, while all the others are originals. It is beyond comprehension why the producers didn't use Leslie Gore's original of this song, since everything else is an original hit recording. Otherwise, this is a wonderful album.
