Free Music Notes for Dirty Dancing: Havana NightsFree Music Review: WOW! Hit: 5 StarsI was very surprised at this movie. I sort of expected it to be a disapointment, but it was very well made. I think what got me the most was the music, i have never really been a fan of foreign music, but in this movie all i wanted to do was sing along. If you haven't seen this movie, you need to go and buy it now.
Free Music Review: AMAZING! Hit: 5 StarsI loved this movie, as a fan of the original I was hoping that it wouldn't be a disappointment. It wasn't, I recommend it to anyone who wants to see a good movie that really want's you to go out and dance. The music is what makes it such a feel good movie when they dance, all the songs are amazing.
Free Music Review: one of the best movies i have ever seen! Hit: 5 Starsi think that anybody that has not seen this movie should watch it. you would love it. it has amazing dancing and some really good music. it has a good begining and a good ending. it shows a first true love and it makes you think about the things that you do. it was a great movie.
Free Music Review: Spanish for beginners Hit: 3 StarsIf you buy this disc, you're probable one of two types of people:
(a) You either really, really enjoyed the adjoinging movie, or
(b) You have never listened to Latin music, and you think this would be the best place to start.
I've listened to this CD, and I think it's a really interesting mix. Many of the songs just don't seem to go together; take 'You Send Me' - a fifties type song - versus 'El Estuche' - a real Latin song. The vast majority of the other songs are mostly in Spanglish - an unsightly mix of English and the Spanish it should be in. Granted, the disc does have appeal, with get-up-and-dance music like 'Represent Cuba,' but it does not at all convey the real Latin scene.
If you want 'real' Latin music, first it should be in Spanish. Try Elvis Crespo, Celia Cruz, or Marc Antony if you want salsa type dance music. Try Thalia, Juanes, or Paulina Rubio if you like more rock-pop music. Or try Orishas if you want to sample Latin rap.
Overall, I give this soundtrack three stars, the three for the great rhythms, and the minus two for the lack of Latin 'believability.'
Free Music Review: awesome CD Hit: 5 StarsI saw the movie and thought it was really awesome and I just had to get the CD right away! This CD is great!! I ahve always liked music from other cultures, but this Cuban-style music is by far the best. I love how every song on here makes you want to get up and dance and even sing-a-long. These songs really make me energized!! You should give it as well as the movie a chance...
