Free Music Review: A "shiver down the spine" sensation

This is my second favourite musical of all-time (after The Lion King) and despite beeing slightly dissapointed by the London production of the show, the Toronto, Stuttgart and Broadway productions which I have seen more recently, do the music and spectacle of this fabulous story justice. The CD contains all the songs from the movie, but the 3 minute segment of Be Our Guest in the movie is doubled on stage to create one of the most magical scenes in a musical ever. If I Can't Love Her is one of my favourite songs of all time and is only beaten, probably by Circle of Life, and shivers go down my spine every time I hear it (this also happens with the fabulous "Home"). The Broadway CD is probably the best introduction to the musical, but more recent recordings include more material, the most up-to-date CD is the Stuttgart CD, which, if you don't mind listening to it in German, has the best orchestration out of all the CDs. The addition of the song "A Change In Me" came last year but is not featured on any of the recordings, not even on the recently relased Spanish version, which is a shame because (despite slightly resembling a famous Whitney song for a few seconds on several occasions), it ranks highly with the other famous songs of the album.Free Music Review: A Classical Broadway Adventure!

I got this Cd from the Library and I was amazed at how wonderful it was. Not only did they stick to the original material but they mangaged to fit in some new songs. I've never went to the broadway show but thats where imagination comes in for some people Including me. Also this Cd has more emotion. For instance in Belle's number "Home" it kind of empathizes how much she wants to return home. Also the Beast has WAY more emotion in this Cd. His songs: How long must this go on and If I can't love her show his feelings. "How long must this go on?" shows how he's still angry with what happened to him. "If I can't love her" is a Fabulous song for the beast considering it shows his Kind side. Also more interesting things are revealed for instance in "Something There" we learn the beast never learnt to read alot. The emotion he gives when he says that he never knew books could make him forget what he is is a great emotion. Gaston number 'Me' is interesting and I like belles lines for unknown reasons. Some of the numbers like "Gaston and Be our Guest" are in my opinion a bit long. However all in all this is a great CD! Purchase 'the tale as old as time' broadway CD!Free Music Review: I've done it, I've heard it, I've enjoyed it every time.

This review is comming from sombody who has the pleasure of staring in the musical. I played Cogsworth in my High School's performance of Beauty and the Beast. Don't let that deter you, our high school does some great shows, just two years earlier, in face, we did Les Miserables. I was always a fan of the animated movie as a child and having the opprotunity to star in the show was a true honor. This soundtrack definetly holds up the standard of Beauty and the Beast to all. The vocals are very well done and each character is very well represented through voice. There are many musical interludes where dance would be, and thankfully they are still included in this soundtrack. That may be something that differs children from listening, as there are many moments where they will not here their favorite characters singing. However, the orchestration is beautiful and you can truly feel the setting. For any fan of the animated series or the musical, this is a wonderful piece of music to add to your collection.

Free Music Review: Beautiful Recording! but similar to the film soundtrack

Ok, let me start by saying that the Broadway cast recording sounds almost indentical to the Movie soundtrack, the only thing that keeps them apart its the new songs("Home" and "Me" beign my favorites)So I would only recomend this cd to people that want to hear the new songs.If you want a recording that's different from the movie go with The Original London Cast, I have to say I enjoyed it more than the Broadway one.
Ok, next the cast is of course wonderful,but I was really dissapointed with the orchestra, if you hear other cast recodings of B&TB you'll see what I mean. But in overal this Recording gets an A-
The cd is very complete with all the songs and reprises,The booklet insinde does have all the lyrics to the songs,though I must say I was very dissapointed that it didn't have any pictures of the show or the cast.
This cd is very worth the price, but I must say if you have the movie soundtrack go with the London cast or the Australian cast(If you're lucky enought to get one),But tha's only my humble opinion, Thank you.
Free Music Review: My Favourite Musical!

I bought this CD when I went to see the musical when I was 6 (I'm 16 now). It was burried in my closet for the longest time, and I found it in the summer. Since then, I have not been able to stop listening to it! The music is so beautiful. All of the voices match the characters perfectly, and they sing so wonderfully! The orchestra is amazing, and they compliment the singers perfectly. The tunes are so catchy, and the lyrics are so perfect and witty! This CD can take you away to a different world, and make you believe that you are living in a dark castle in a French provincial town. My favourite songs include Belle, No Matter What, Home, Be Our Guest (of course!), If I Can't Love Her, the Entr'acte (that orchestra is wonderful!), and the End Transformation. I know it sounds like a lot, but they're all so wonderful! If I had to choose just one favourite, it would be "Home." Susan Egan is the perfect Belle, and I get goosebumps every time I listen to it. I've lent this CD to all my friends, and we all love it. I hope you love this CD as much as I do!
