Free Music Notes for Disney Presents The Music Man (2003 TV Film)Free Music Review: Perfect In Every Way Hit: 5 Stars
Ok, I am being honest. I have never seen any of the older versions of The Music Man, but I love this musical. First of all, Kristen Chenoweth has about the best voice ever. Secondly, Mattew Broderick does an awesome job supporting her vocal talent. Obviously none of you are singers because if you were you would know how truly hard it is to "outdo" a loud, talented singer. Just because the original Harold Hill had a "manly" voice doesn't mean they all should. That's majorly sterotypical and I feel very unfair. The other supporting characters also did a good job. If you personally do not enjoy this version so be it, but don't spoil it for the rest of the world. I highly, highly suggest that you buy this CD. I am in awe everytime I listen, and if you enjoy that, purchase the video as well.
Free Music Review: Kristin Chenoweth's voice..Could silence those 76 trombones! Hit: 5 Stars
Having seen both Kristen Chenoweth and Matthew Broderick on Broadway...I tuned in to watch The Music Man. Afterward, I had to get this CD. Kristen's star is rising and her voice has an alluring charm and a powerful delivery! It is no easy task to redo a classic, but this CD has brought a new, fresh appreciation to an old favorite. If you want a CD that just makes you smile and feel good...this is the Cd to buy! It is well worth the money just to hear Kristin's delivery of the shows famous songs! Well done, and if you're going to make a "remake" of some of Broadway's most famous songs...then this CD delivers...and Kristin is undoubtably its STAR!!! I can't wait for the DVD to be released!
Free Music Review: BRILLIANT! (B, and that rhymes with P, that stands for pool! Hit: 5 Stars
What can I say? I've never seen the original version *pouts* but this is great! The songs are there in their complete (well, most of them) versions. Matthew Broderick is wonderful and Kristin Chenoweth has a fantastic voice! My only complaint is that it doesn't have the music for "Seventy-Six Trombones" and the magical "Marian the Libarian" dance sequences. I'm not sure if "Shipoopi" is complete, but it sounds like so! If they could release this again with the dance sequences (and the reprise of "Till There Was You" sung by Broderick), I would rate it even higher!
Free Music Review: Absolutely Magical! Hit: 5 Stars
I am a huge fan of Broadway musicals and I have seen many remakes of old classics, some better than others and this is at the top of my list! With an unforgettable cast, this is beautifully done. I fell head over heels for Matthew Broderick's Harold Hill the first time he tipped his hat. He is remarkably charming with an amazing singing voice! Kristin is completely stunning in every aspect of her portrayal of Marian. I have seen all of Disney's remakes of old classics and I have loved every last one!
Free Music Review: Exciting Hit: 5 Stars
I have always enjoyed The Music Man. I saw this DVD displayed at the local Kmart. I never even realized that The Music Man was remade. The most outstanding thing in this remake was Kristin Chenoweth; she has an amazing voice and a prescence that is to be rivaled.Mathew Broderick is in a class of his own, and although my peers would agree that the part of Prof. Harold Hill was made for Robert Preston, Mathew Broderick gave the character a new and refreshing interpretation.
