Free Music Review: Kristin Chenoweth is a godess
Hit: 4 Stars

The movie was really good...some of the casting could have been better but nevertheless the dancing was amazing...but the best part of the whole entire show was kristen chenoweth's singing (tony winner)...she sings like a godess...she added new twists to the songs that no other marian has done before...even though alot of the dancing music was cut from this CD, hearing kristin sing is worth it. She is AMAZING, and Matthew Broderick (tony winner)was good too...i also really like the way disney modernized alot of the music (ie. Iowa Stubborn, Trouble, 76, etc.) The quartet was really good too...the shipoopi is a bit disapointing, but than again the shipoopi is best seen live and NO cast recordings have the whole song (including dance music).

Free Music Review: So Worth the Money!!
Hit: 4 Stars

This CD is great!! Of course Kristin Chenoweth steals the recording as Marian Paroo, but Matthew Broderick holds his ground. Alot of people try to compare him to Robert Preston, but Broderick doesn't sound like him and they have dfferent voice tones. Anyway, Broderick is great, BUT his voice just doesn't do it on "Ya Got Trouble". That's the only thing wrong w/ this recording. The supporting cast shines too. Debra Monk is great, Molly Shannon is good, David Aaron Baker does a great rendition of "Shipoopi" and Boyd Banks is a cute and loveable Winthrop whos lisp isn't overdone. Overall this is a great rendition of The Muusic Man.
DEFNINTLY worth the buy.

Free Music Review: A Wonderful Music Man CD
Hit: 4 Stars

This CD is great! Matthew Brodreick is not perfect, but he is good. Kristen Chenoweth is the *STAR*. She does great, especially in Till there was You. She sounds mystical. Marcellus is a bit to... gleeful in Shipoopi. On some songs they reworked the instrumentation alot... a little bit to much. The worst was Iowa Stubborn. Another bad one is Wells Fargo Wagon, though the singers were at there best on that one. What ever happened to the clopping horse feet? Overerall this is 4 stars.

Free Music Review: Broderick and Chennowith are Amazing
Hit: 4 Stars

I recently saw the TV movie of The Music Man starring Matthew Broderick and Kristen Chennowith. I thought Broderick did a superb job. People always compare Harold Hill to the legendary Robert Preston. I think Broderick made it his own. Chennowith was a very convincing Marian, with a very amazing voice. I would highly recommend this soundtrack.

Free Music Review: Correction
Hit: 4 Stars

I truly enjoyed this recording, but I simply wanted to point out that the editorial reviewer is incorrect: Broderick played the character of Leopold Bloom in The Producers. (Nathan Lane was cast exquisitely as his partner in crime, Max.)
