This CD, along with the three (3) other Disney CDs of children's songs, is always nearby when we have our grandkids in the car. This, like the other disks in the series, is a wonderful compilation of Americana -- "Folk music" in the pre-1960's sense of the term, meaning songs that parents have taught to their children for generations in America. Most are over a century old, but a few new songs are thrown in for good measure; by and large, the new songs fit well into the collection. The primary singer is occasionally accompanied by a kid's chorus, which keeps the overall sound "clean" and non-irritating to adults, and seems to have helped my 3-year old son pick up the lyrics quickly (he is working on Take Me Out to the Ballgame right now). Folksy kind of guitary kind of strummy kinda... Boring. It's well performed with high talent, but kids want goofy-stupid-silly stuff (at least mine does).
