The Dixie Chicks' Fly was one of the reasons that I even started listening to country music again, after having been forced to listen to it during the 60's and hating every minute. This albums' themes are serious, with very little to lighten the mood, but considering what the Chicks have gone through in the last 3 years, the craftsmanship is outstanding. My musical tastes are hard rock and classic metal, but this always will be one of my favorite albums. Good music comes in all kinds and flavors!Free Music Review: New Direction

Having been practically forced out of Country Music by the radio stations, the Dixie Chicks take a more mainstream/pop approach in this album. "Not Ready To Make Nice" tells how they feel about the roller coaster that they have been on since "The Incident" (when lead singer, Natalie Maynes said that she was ashamed to be from the same state as George W Bush, as he was about to mislead the US into the disasterous War in Iraq). Lots of raw emotion and worth the price of the album.Free Music Review: One of their best

I found this CD to be the best the Dixie Chicks have ever done. Per the video interview included this included music they wrote themselves. They wanted this album to be special and to show what they can do. It included the song "Not Ready to make nice" which they discussed in the video as being not as easy to write as they wanted to get their feelings across. CD arrived very quickly and was well packaged. I am not what you would call a country fan , however the music on this particular CD is just what any person needs. The music is upbeat and just has an overall great listening feeling. I truly recommend purchasing this CD as ok, there is only 1 song I do not care for off this entire CD and how many times can we say this about a complete CD these days.

Our family just bought the "Shut Up and Sing" Dvd and we were blown away. We love Lyle Lovett, Alison Krauss and other contemporary country, but I don't know how we could have missed this amazing band. We are buying every Dixie Chicks cd they've recorded not only because we love the music, in addition they have character and are willing to stand up and be counted. Courage should be rewarded. We'll do our part.
