Hey, I'm 57 years old. I've seen and heard everyone -- from Elvis & Chuck; Beatles & Stones; Allmans & Skynyrd; Eagles & Fleetwood Mac, etc, etc. With the exception of the Dave Matthews Band (best and most talented group EVER), these ladies -- their appearance; their music; their musicianship; their personality; their "presence" on stage -- are absolutely "tops". Three months ago I probably knew 2 or 3 of their songs. But after buying and listening to "Home" and now "Top of the World" I am "hooked". If you haven't heard them before -- give them a try. It's sheer fun! "Goodbye Earl" by itself must have empowered thousands of young girls already. Go chicks!Free Music Review: Dixie Chicks Live!

This is a great CD for big Dixie Chicks fans. I love putting it in my stereo and just enjoying the music. It sounds even better than the studio albums. Natalie, Martie and Emily have a certain magic and it comes out even more when they are playing live. They have an impressive repetoir of music and songs to play from. It would have been nice to hear hits like "Without You", "You Were Mine", etc but this is a great set. Highlights include "Cowboy Take Me Away", "A Home", "Landslide", a cover of Bob Dylan's "Mississippi", "Some Days You Gotta Dance", "Wide Open Spaces", and more. The best gauge to hear a performer or a group is live in concert (or a cd of the concert( Think KISS live or KISS UNPLUGGED are great examples of how good live is). A friend gave me a copy of this Dixie Chicks CD as an early birthday gift, after they won the Grammies.
This 2002 concert is a great showcase for the Chicks. Listening to them on this CD, I feel like I am in the middle of the concert in the best seats in the house.
The production quality is great. The chicks are in fine form and this CD concert is a proof that the grammies wins are no fluke.
I want more of their CDS now

Wow...I was pleasantly surprised with this new live album by the Dixie Chicks. It is really good!!!! Beyond the political mentions (hard time touring...Rock the Vote), this album has some great moments. TOP OF THE WORLD is a wonderful song...and really fit for the encore session. All of the rest of the hits sound good. WHITE TRASH WEDDING actually sounds better than it does on the album. SIN WAGON is one of the best country songs that has come out in a long time. It's wonderful...and destined to become a country classic! This album is just great. If you haven't listened to anything by the Chicks yet, listen to this. This concert CD is highly recommended for anyone who saw The Top of the World tour. It's a great overview of the Chicks greatest hits recorded live. Natalie Maines has a wonderful, honky tonk voice that shines throughout this recording. It would be hard to imagine anyone (other than hardline Bush supporters) not liking this country/bluegrass/rock trio once they are exposed to the music on this CD.Top tracks include Landslide(outstanding version of the Fleetwood Mac classic), Goodbye Earl, There's Your Trouble, Tortured,Tangled Hearts, Lil' Jack Slade(2003 Grammy Instrumental Winner), If I Fall You're Going Down With Me & Wide Open Spaces.
