Free Music Notes for Lightning Strikes AgainFree Music Review: Love this disc. Hit: 5 Stars
I hadn't followed Dokken since the days of Back for the Attack , so when I came across some pretty favorable reviews of this new cd on a few of the more credible metal internet sites, I had a listen to see what Don and the boys had to offer a jaded forty something headbanger. A superb, understated, tour de force of exemplary heavy rockin, metal is what. Excellent music, great guitar work and finely written heavy rock songs from some of metal's elder statesmen. Honestly if you're lookin for a heavy rock/metal album that harkens back to the glory days of the 80's then you cant go wrong with this one. The first three tracks are worth the price of admission alone. Oasis is another gem and the second of the two ballads reminds me of classic Scorpions. Lookin forward to the next album already.
Free Music Review: Dokken - Rocks on!!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
WOW! Don promised a hard rockin album, and he sure delievered!! This is an amazingly crunchy/poppy/harmonic CD!! I love everything Dokken has ever done, including Don's latest solo venture. But this even surprised me. After the first riff, I thought to myself - OMG, GEORGE LYNCH!!! Jon Levin has almost pulled off the impossible. I swear he sounds just like George Lynch on this CD. It's hard not to think George is playing on this! I have to pinch myself to say, "This is not Under Lock and Key!" It sounds so 80's and so heavy - I just love it! "THIS FIRE" has a really kick-butt riff that just goes and goes - and Don's lyrics throughout the album are top - notch. What a treat! THANK YOU DOKKEN!!!!!!! KEEP THE FIRE BURNING! 80's METAL STILL RULES!
Free Music Review: LIGHTNING HAS STRUCK AGAIN!!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
My title says it all. This release is right in the vein of Under Lock and Key and lightning has struck again! You won't believe how Dokken has truely captured they're classic metal sound and brought it back for us all to enjoy once more. George Lynch is not on this one but Jon Levin is a fine replacement on guitar and brings back the wailing melodic guitars once more. I am a huge Dokken fan from the early days who has waited a very long time for the return to they're glory days and I can tell you this is it. When Don Dokken said he was shooting for the early sound of Under Lock and Key he must have meant it. This is nothing short of a 5 star for this Dokken fan. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND BUY THIS ONE YOU WON'T REGRET IT!
Free Music Review: Lightning Really Does Strike Again Hit: 5 Stars
I have Been a Long time Dokken fan. Through the good times, and the not so good times. Their past few releases have tried to capture Glory days gone by i.e. From Conception Live '81 and the Definitive collection-Just what we need another Greatest Hits. Don't forget the few years old released Japan Live '95- Well you get the Point. Well "New Dokken " is back with Lightning Strikes Again. 12 Songs that will leave you wanting more, yet Completely Satisfied. Overall As a Dokken fan I give it 5 Stars. Dokken are Back where they should Be. Rockin' like Dokkin'
Free Music Review: DOKKEN has only grown stronger, and this one proves it! Hit: 5 Stars
I have always been a big DOKKEN fan, even when it was not "COOl" to like 80's style Hard Rock & Metal. Well, I am happy to say that DOKKEN has out-lasted NIRVANA and HOLE, and all that other grunge crap! We ROCKERS have little pitty or mercy for 90's era wannabe rockers! So I am very pleased to say that Don Dokken and his band are sounding very strong on this terrific new release. The vocals, and music are truly top-notch. All I can say is Hell-Yeah! Play it loud, and get out there to see DOKKEN on tour this year! 5 stars!
