Free Music Review: All American Dolly A++++
Hit: 5 Stars

I have listened to this album at least 20 times since I bought it a week ago. I adore this recording so much. Dolly captures every emotion I felt after September 11th. She has always been one of those singers who can take a lyric and make you feel every word of it. Welcome Home is so beautifully written and sung. It is on of the best songs she has ever written. I rank it up ther with Coat of Many Colors. Color Me America should become an american anthem...it is so awesome, and Dolly belts like I've never heard her before. Other standouts are Light Of A Clear Blue Morning, The Star Spangled Banner (georgous arrangement), Peace In the Valley, Tie A Yellow Ribbon. The Lords prayer and The Glory Forever are heavenly. I get chills every time. My favorite is Go to Hell. Parton sings her guts out on this one and tells Satan to go to hell back where he belongs. I've noticed a couple of people that gave this album a bad review on this site. That really bothers me. I think they are trying to compare this recording to her last three bluegrass discs, and since this isn't an all acoustic album they dogged it. This album is done perfectly and I love her Bluegrass albums as much as anyone...but this album wouldn't have been as effective if it was all acoustic and stripped down. By the way there are several bluegrassy sounding cuts. Good music is good music whether it's bluegrass, country or inspirational. I have nearly every record Dolly has ever made, and this is without a doubt one of her best recordings. I rank this album right up there with her last three bluegrass albums, Hungry Again and Heartsongs. We finally get to hear Dolly sing gospel-which I think her voice is best suited for. If you are American and you were effected at all by September 11th...then you should enjoy this album as well...whether you're a Dolly fan or not. Don't pay attention to a couple of reviewers who don't appreciate good inspirational and patriotic music. I hope Dolly records more gospel in the near future.

Free Music Review: More than I expected!
Hit: 5 Stars

Okay, I must admit that I will buy any music from Dolly Parton. She is my favorite, but I honestly thought to myself before the release, "I hate to see her lose her steam after her recent comeback and success with 'The Grass is Blue,' 'Little Sparrow,' and 'Halos and Horns.'" In the last 4 or 5 years, Dolly has orchestrated a grammy award winning comeback after a decade of little to no music. She continues to be a powerhouse in country music even after all these years, and she is hands down, one of the finest and most prolific female songwriters of all time. I half-expected this release to slow her down, and I didn't really think it would live up to my expectations. In fact, I was worried it would be hokey! Oh, my gosh, it is really incredible. I continue to reverse the track on "Gee, Ma, I Wanna Go Home" just so I can laugh my "arse" off. It's hysterical. As usual, she pokes fun of herself, but she has some pretty funny things to say about Saddam too. Her voice is clear and pure on every cut and the cd really makes you feel good. The most amazing self-penned cut is "Welcome Home," but there are a half dozen others written by Dolly that are really well-crafted also. Some might say Dolly is trying to cash in on the war theme, but I don't really think so. She's built an entertainment empire worth $300 million, and like she's said recently, in somewhat of a paraphrased version, "I don't need the money. I've made enough money to really make the music I want to now." Even if you don't like Dolly as a country artist, I think you will like her as an "I-love-my-country" artist. This album is patriotic, but it is not political. That's what's so brilliant about it! A++.

Free Music Review: Dolly's Genius Streak is Apparently Over
Hit: 2 Stars

If you, like me, have been following Dolly's career for the last twenty years, then you probably were thrilled when you heard she was intending to release a heartfelt album featuring gospel, inspirational and patriotic songs. After all, gospel has always been one of Dolly's stronger suits. And the last four or five albums from Dolly have been sheer genius.
This is, however, one of the most disappointing collections of Ms. Parton's long and prosperous career. Songs like "God Bless the USA" and "Tie a Yellow Ribbon" have been recorded to death lately, and Dolly's rendition doesn't bring anything new. An almost laughable bluegrass rendition of "My Country Tis of Thee" proves that just because you can make a bluegrass arrangement of a song doesnt mean you should.
If it weren't for a heartbreaking original tune "Welcome Home" and the rerecording of an old Dolly classic "Light of a Clear Blue Morning" this album would be a total bust.

Free Music Review: WOW
Hit: 5 Stars

Sounds like "A Music Fan from Brighton" hates Republicans, and their country. But hey, its their loss to not enjoy such a fine album devoted to a fine country. It is sad when Democrats start calling patriotism Republican, because they are finally conceding that they hate their country.

Free Music Review: Dolly Does It For God and Country
Hit: 5 Stars

Dolly Parton - one of the best singer's in the world!! Her rendition of 'Tie a Yellow Ribbon' is excellent and flawless. A remakable version of the song.
There are lots of wonderful tracks on this CD and one of the best has to be 'The Ballad of the Green Beret' as well as the
hugely funny 'Gee Ma, I wanna Go Home'. Dolly makes fun of herself during this song; 'I tried to join the army but, they said my feet were flat, and since, I cannot see them, I'll take their word for that!' - BRILLIANT.

If you care about the forces and world peace - buy this CD. Dolly Parton - excellent. The best there is - simple as that.
