Free Music Notes for Live & Well AlbumFree Music Review: I love Dolly, but not this CD Hit: 3 Stars
First of all, Dolly's wonderlful, a criminally underrated songwriter. I was so excited to see she had a live CD, but when i listened it just didn't do it for me. i think the main reason was I couldn't help comparing it to her 1994 live CD, Heartsongs. Now that is the best live CD I have ever heard and possibly my favourite Dolly CD. I was hoping for a sequel to Heartsongs, but this didn't come close. Maybe if I had never heard Heartsongs, I'd love Live and Well as much as everyone else. Live and Well sounds too much like talking and then singing, and while Heartsongs has both, the talking is more meaningful and joins the singing so much better--it flows better. Give it a listen and you'll see what I mean.
