Dolly has a classic country voice and all her music is real country. By that I mean the combination of her voice, the music and lyrics, and the fact that real country music always has a guitar, a fiddle, and a steel guitar. The rest is what I call country/pop. Every song on this album is terrific. I met her on a flight from Nashville to Atlanta years ago and we had a nice conversation. She is a true icon of country music and this CD is the best!Free Music Review: It IS the very best

I'd bought this album for my 10 year old nephew (part of the next generation of Dolly fans), and listening to it with him made me fall in love with Dolly's music all over again. So I went out and got a copy for myself. I can't recommend this CD enough---get both Volume 1 and 2; you can't have enough Dolly, especially at this quality of recording.Free Music Review: Fantabulous!

Dolly is the greatest country singer ever! This CD contains her very best and coupled with the second volume (The Very Best Of Dolly Parton Volume 2) you have a fantastic collection of wonderful music. I bought this CD for my daughter, but I had forgotten just what a beautiful voice Dolly Parton has and how good some of her songs were and still are. Everyone in my home enjoys this CD and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to hear Dolly's best known songs.
