Volume two of the Don Cherry at Montmartre collection continues with more superb music, this time from March 1966. This unique performance actually represents the third Cherry appearance at Copenhagen's Caf? Montmartre. He had just recorded his first album for Blue Note Records, Complete Communion, in December 1965. Another added attraction is the mini-suite in tribute to Albert Ayler, the medley of Ghosts and Holy Spirit. Gato Barbieri is on fire throughout all three performances, Karl Berger constantly has a fast-paced conversation going on his vibes, and Bo Steif keeps a pulsating rhythm on bass upon which Berger and drummer Aldo Romano float.Jazz Music CDs
