Free Music Notes for Anne of Green Gables: Celtic
Free Music Review: Good, but it's missing something!

This is the fourth CD in this collection that I've purchased. As I said in my review of the "Lullaby" album: If you're thinking of buying some of the other CDs in this collection, you should know that the tunes are very similar from one CD or another. Technically, the songs are slightly different, but many of the cues and melodies are nearly identical. If I put them all on my ipod and listen to them on Shuffle, it's nearly impossible to tell which song came from which CD.
That said, the music on all the CDS -- "Celtic" included -- is relaxing and brings back fond memories of watching "Road To Avonlea." Oh yes, don't be fooled by the young Anne Shirley on some of the CD covers -- all the music on these CDs is from the third Anne movie and/or "Road To Avonlea." If you're looking for music from the first two movies, you must get the soundtrack by composer Hagood Hardy.
One big disappointment with the "Celtic" album: The main reason I purchased this (knowing full well that many of the tunes would be similar to ones on the other albums) was that I was hoping to hear some of Gus Pike's music -- especially the haunting tune that often played in the Gus-centric episodes. But alas, it's not included! How can they have a Celtic CD and not include, oh I don't know, Celtic-sounding music? Give me a break! I was sad. It's still a good collection though, otherwise.
