Free Music Notes for End of InnocenceFree Music Review: An accurate statement about the Ronald Reagan years. Hit: 5 Stars
Bruce Hornsby's haunting keyboards go hand in glove w/Don Henley's voice on "The End of the Innocence". I couldn't think of a more appropriate song for the Reagan years. While many made megadollars on Wall Street, we had our dirty little wars in Central America and wound up the Reagan years with the Iran-Contra Scandal. After Mossadegh, Arbenz, JFK, Vietnam, MLK, RFK, Allende, and Watergate; the end of our innocence indeed.
Free Music Review: The End of the Innocence Hit: 5 Stars
If you're a Don Henley fan (and I am) this is THE CD for you! Don really lays it down on The End of the Innocence but when he gets down to The Heart of the Matter, all of his feelings REALLY come out and you can almost hear his heart bleeding. And you know, If Dirt Were Dollars, I'd still spend it, ALL of it, on this CD. Mr. Henley is my pick for Classic Rock Artist of the Year. You can't go wrong on this one!!!
Free Music Review: The Greatest Album of All Time! Hit: 5 Stars
This album contains 10 tracks of which 8 are clearly works of genius (and the other 2 are pretty good too). The album ranges from easy on the ear to loud rock to soft ballad all of which are accompanied by the finest lyrics ever written and some of the best playing / vocals ever recorded. Five years after buying the album I still listen to it on a weekly basis!
Free Music Review: The End of the Innocence - Don Henley at his best Hit: 5 Stars
The third solo album from Eagles' lead singer and drummer Don Henley, as usual filled with great songs and thoughtful lyrics. Don Henley received some grammys and the album sold millions of copies. Guest musicians include Take 6, Jeff Porcaro, Axl Rose, Bruce Hornsby and many others. If I have to pick 10 favorite albums I'd definitely include this one.
Free Music Review: The Bible of CD's Hit: 5 Stars
This CD has been my favorite from the first time I listened to it as a child (I'm 16). I look for unique music, and this CD has it. All of the songs are great, and in fact, worth memorizing. Henley makes excellent use of lyrics, and conveys his meanings perfectly. There's really no reason not to buy it.
