Free Music Review: A great solo-debut from a great, prolific songwriter

I can't give this album five stars, `cause it does contain a track or two that I prefer to skip, but all in all, this first solo-album from Eagles drummer Don Henley is really wonderful. On the song "Lilah" Don Henley sings something like this : "-Like every young man / I had some things that I wanted to say..." He did, and he still does, and sometimes an artist's raging against the machine gets in the way of the musical side of things. But this is not the case with Don Henley. On "I Can't Stand Still" he combines harshly satirical stuff such as "Dirty Laundry" with traditional and completely un-political rock songs like the title track, and beautiful ballads such as "Long Way Home" and "Talking to the Moon". Why "Dirty Laundry" was the only song from this album to make it onto Don Henley's greatest hits-package "Actual Miles", is beyound me. But all the more reason to get your hands on this great album from one of the best rock singers and lyricists America has ever produced.
