This soundtrack is mesmerizing and stays with you long after it ends. It is the soundtrack for the movie which is outstanding and shows that Jake Gyllenhaal is Hollywood's top young actor. It is unusual in it content, but the performances by Jake and the other cast members really makes this one a "cult item." I purchased the CD so I could enjoy the complete sound track over and over.Free Music Review: It took 'em long enough, but it was worth the wait!

My friends and I have been waiting for this for years--finally, the real 80's music soundtrack for Donnie Darko, arguably one of the best soundtracks out there!
Probably the only negative comment I have is that they included the music from the motivational videos, something that I could have done without.

This soundtrack is great! Despite what Craig Parsons said, Gary Jules version of Mad World is on this Import version 3 times...two both the original and an alternate version. The score is not unlistenable at all...I'm not sure what you've expected after seeing the movie...I find the score to great for ambiance, it just depends on your taste really.Free Music Review: This is THE soundtrack for any Donnie Darko fan!

This 2-disc edition Donnie Darko CD contains both the soundtrack and the score, unlike the US version. It's awesome, and definitely worth the hefty price tag...then again, $27 for this isn't that bad at all! I love it. It contains all of the songs from the original, and the director's cut. This double CD includes not only the score as in the US version, but all the soundtrack songs as well. Donnie Darko is an incredible movie and this CD evokes the whole mood of the movie. Excellent song choices, moving and deep. Would recommend this over the US version.
