Free Music Notes for Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (1992 Canadian Cast)Free Music Review: Delight yourself and your faith! Hit: 5 Stars
The Biblical account of Joseph and his family is rich with meaning, symbolism, and foreshadowing of Jesus Christ. Not to mention, an uproarious, rolicking, "Hallelujah" narrative in its own right! All of that is captured here in this CD.The Old Testament comes alive in the Story of Jacob and Sons. The New Testament is revealed in the life and lessons of Joseph. Not having been a Donnie Osmond fan, I was leary about going to the show. In all fairness, Donnie Osmond was absolutely brilliant in this role and sings powerfully and beautifully. I stood and applauded long and loud when I saw this production and cast in Chicago.
Free Music Review: Filled with great voices and clever, fun songs. Hit: 5 Stars
You don't have to be a religious person to love the tale this musical tells. The songs are sung beautifully by each cast member and Donny Osmond is tremendous as Joseph. The power and fluidity of his voice captures you and pulls you into the story, and you soon find yourself singing along with him, as well as the other characters. From the time that Joseph's jealous brothers sell him as a slave for a couple of measly bucks to the lesson Joseph teaches them in the end after he climbes his way into Egypt's number two position, you'll be humming along, tapping your toes, or pretending that YOU are every character in the production.
Free Music Review: absolutely beautiful! Hit: 5 Stars
Having recently seen this show again (2010),
I can't help but to return to my 1992 CD with
Donny Osmond and listen to it again.
He was superb! Even today I would see
the show again if he was in the title role.
The music on this CD is wonderful.
My wife listens to it all the time and I just listened
to it again ... with the #8 track "Close Every Door" bringing
chills with the clear vocals of Donny Osmond.
One of my all time favorites. Buy this CD if you
have ever seen this show - you will not regret it.
Free Music Review: This is a WONDERFUL CD! Hit: 5 Stars
The music is very catchy, Donny Osmond is terrific, and I dare you to NOT sing along! I'm not an audiophile like many of the other reviewers, so I can't comment on the quality of the recording or the differences between voices, but I can tell you that I've been singing the songs non-stop (which may not be a selling point! :) since I bought the CD, my four-year-old LOVES to dance to it, and you can listen to the CD and actually follow the story if you are unfamiliar with the play. It is truly wonderful!
