I saw Joseph when it came to town in '93 and loved it ever since!!! I listen to it constantly, and it is like a bedtime story, for the whole musical is on the cd. Donny is the perfect Joseph. THis role was made for him. I lvoe the video, but this cd is better because everyone sings, instead of talk-singing (which is my biggest pet-peeve). I abosolutely LVOE this musical!!! I want to do this musical at my high school next year, because it is the best musical ever!!Free Music Review: One of the best

This is an almost factual reenactment of what supposedly went on in the Bible. A boy named Joseph and his brothers have a fight and the whole story is all singing, so if you haven't seen the movie, you don't miss anything. It has all different types of music including Jamaican and French, and it is suitible for children of all ages. I also recommend the DVD that has all the songs in it. I've owned this version of Joseph for a while and can say that it's the best recording of the show I've heard (and I own many).The new music is more up beat than every before and Donny Osmond sounds great. The cast is a joy to listen to and once the CD's played the whole way through you can't help feeling bright and cheerful!
Great cast, great music and great lyrics. If you're looking to buy any version of Joseph on CD, then make it this one.

Andrew Lloyd Webber uses such a variety of music in this musical, which is why it so enjoyable for all types of people. There is at least one tune for everyone to enjoy, not just a solemn orchestra tune, but an Elvis impersonation, a disco tune (Go, Go, Go Joseph) (at least it looks that way in the movie) and my favorite, the Joseph Megamix. There are three different CDs but this one with Donny Osmond is the best. He is by far the best Joseph vocally. I have all three versions but this is the only one I listen too. I just saw the musical live in a local theater. It was great. I also bought the video. It is also starring Donny Osmond. It is a great set together and it would make a great gift for any Broadway Musical lover. Try it...you'll like it.
