Free Music Review: wait, i'm so confused...I thought I hated Donny Osmond.

This should be a guilty pleasure but it is so good I can't feel bad about listening to it. This is so much fun to hear!
Songs I've always found way too "schmaltzy" are so cleanly presented, with such an absence of histrionics, that I am finding them very enjoyable. These renditions clear the mind of the many awful versions that these and similar songs have suffered elsewhere, including on American Idol. Not a hint of any singer except Donny Osmond here - no copying or mimicing the originals - but respect and taste are on display as he captures the essential subtleties that made the songs memorable (and adds many of his own seemingly effortlessly).
If you had told me that Donny Osmond would sing crystal clear covers of "you are so beautiful to me" and "lets stay together" that I would like, I would have said you were crasy. So I guess Mr. Osmond has gotten me to do what George Michael was unable to inspire in me: to listen without prejudice. OK Donny, you have a new fan, one of many in response to this I suspect. Your hard work and attention to every note have paid off beautifully!

WOW!! Just when you think you've been as amazed as you can be by the talent of this incredible star, Donny Osmond goes steps further with the release of "Love Songs of the 70s". This CD outdoes them all!!! His soulful, sexy sound breaks the boundaries completely, demonstrating his awesome ability. Each of the songs brings new life into the way they had been previously done. I truly cannot listen to the other versions because Donny has set a standard that makes his renditions the only one I want to hear. In my opinion, he has done each song better than the original artist. "WOW!!" Is all I could say as I listened to each song.
Whether you are a Donny Osmond fan or not, you NEED to hear this CD. I personally have given this CD to people who were not fans of his, only to have them completely become fans.
Donny Osmond is much more than Puppy Love and if none of his other CDs show that (and they have), this one most certainly does. It is a must have for any Donny Osmond fan...any fan of music, period.
Free Music Review: Love Songs better than the Originals

I must admit that when I first found out what Donny would be singing on this CD I had the reaction of some others here. Some of these songs played out for me in the 70's but here's where you need to listen withOUT prejudice. Donny's vocals are passionate and his attention to lyric more than sells these songs. The original singers need to take a chapter out of Donny's songbook here. The R&B vocalizations on "Let's Stay Together", "Oh Girl", and the great funkiness of "Circles" show a multi-talented entertainer at the top of his game. Ballads have always been Donny's forte and the sheer passion of "Sometimes When We Touch", which original singer Dan Hill had to call Donny to tell him what a great version he created and the absolute breathless beauty of "You Are So Beautiful".. believe me when I tell you Joe Cocker's version used to give me migraine and agita at the same time, are wonderful treasures if you listen. Don't sell Donny short and don't short yourself out of a wonderful listening experience.

Love Songs of the '70s
One would think that a teen idol from the 70's would just fade away. Not this guy. Donny Osmond may have grown up, but he never gets old. When I got this CD I was pleasantly surprised at how smooth he still sounded. He puts as much feeling into the songs to make them believable and to bring back all those teen memories. Here is a kicker for you...my husband even enjoyed it! From a wistful rendition of hit, "When I Need You" to the driving bass of "Will It Go Round In Circles" there is not a dud in the bunch. The selection of songs runs the gambit of memories. I am sure that anyone can find at least one or two in the bunch that will have them singing along.
If you love 70's music this is a must have. Donny puts his own special seal on the songs giving them a new feel, with a familiar flavor.
Kudos Donny! Bring on more!
Free Music Review: Awesome job Donny-I felt like a teenager again

I idolized Donny Osmond when I was a teenager. I new the words to all donny's songs. I would sing them everyday for hours.Then something happened and I stopped singing. I had no idea you were still singing. I found the album by accident. Praise God! As I listened to each song, I was melting once again as I did many years ago. Donny Osmond you still got what it takes to take my breath away. I really think as you matured your singing is more Awesome then ever. I am back singing again. Thank you for bringing back something in my life, that I enjoyed very much. Keep up the great singing. Hopefully one day I will see you singing again on stage. A day I will never forget, watching the Osmonds in concert.I used to wear the hats like you you used to wear, I had Osmonds posters all over my walls in my basement, where I sang my heart out for hours everyday. And my wonderful parent's listened to me.
