Free Music Notes for Love Songs of the '70sFree Music Review: Wish I could give this more than 5 stars!!! Hit: 5 Stars
First off, I am prejudice when it comes to Donny because I have been a fan of his for more than 30 years. However, his voice on this cd is so smooth and mature and he brought so much feeling to his versions of these classic 70's "love" songs. I especially like "Sometimes When We Touch", "Mandy" and "When I Need You". Donny has been able to take some very classic songs and really make them his own. I actually don't like the original versions of some of these songs anymore because I like the way that he has redone them. Even though, he has really stayed true to most of the original music, I just like the spin that his voice put on some of the songs. I don't think anyone would be disappointed in this cd, especially if you like these songs of the 70's. Donny is a true artist and his voice (and his looks) better and better all the time.
Free Music Review: Donny is here to stay Hit: 5 Stars
I must be honest. Even as a Donny fan...I was hesitant to buy this album.
I absolutely love track #3---"Let's Stay Together"
Donny should have done an album of love songs sooner. He has such a smooth voice, and adds his own signature Donnyisms in the right place.
A bit of groove has to go with "Will It Go Round In Circles". Just in my opinion Donny can sing anything & I'll enjoy it. I don't think he tries to be anyone just himself. Not Barry Manilow, Neil Sedaka, the BeeGees and definitely not Clay Aiken. If you want to be reminded of the '70s...this is worth a listen. He adds his own passion to these songs. Give it a chance.Under a Blanket of Stars
Free Music Review: Getting better and better Hit: 5 Stars
It doesn't hurt to be a Donny Osmond fan when you buy this CD, but it doesn't matter if you're not. These are timeless classics that will take you to another place. Donny's voice has mellowed with age and he shows a depth the Donny Osmond of youth couldn't hope to capture. Take a trip down memory lane with a talented man who brings a special something to the music of the 70's. Truly, this was his generation and he could do album after album of 70's music and we'd never tire of it. His vocals are dead on and he brings a great energy and life to his songs. Try it, you'll like it!
Free Music Review: A MUST OWN CD! FABOULOUS! Hit: 5 Stars
I love this CD! Since my husband surprised me with it, I cannot stop listening to it. Donny Osmond's voice is so beautiful, flawless really, and his interpretations of the songs are wonderful. After telling all my friends about it and enduring their "teen-beat like" giggles, they listen and call back raving that is their favorite album. I hope Donny Osmond is receiving all the positive feedback and accolades he so deserves and I pray he is working on his next album for our listening pleasure - I will be waiting anxiously!!!
Free Music Review: Voice a little husky, but other than that it's GREAT!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
After her botched plastic surgery ordeal, I didn't expect much from the one who used to be "a little bit country." But, dang, this is great! Enjoyable from start to finish. Although, like I mention in the title, Marie's voice seems a bit husky on the recording. Well, what do you expect from a former star now in her 80's. Anyhoo, treat yourself to her cover of Gilbert and Sullivan's "Alone Again Naturally," arguably one of the greatest protest songs of the 70's.
