Free Music Review: An Amazing Resurrection: Where Has This Voice Been?

In This Is the Moment, Donny Osmond, now at the age of 40+, provides his listeners with a truly outstanding Broadway-variety album. Donny Osmond's voice, his creative and often passionate interpretations of the lyrics and the excellent selection he chose to perform make this a "must own" album.
I have been listening to this album for over a year now and I have yet to tire of it! Osmond has created one of the best showtune albums in recent years. While not a fan of the Puppy Love Teen Pop Idol Osmond, I am sure a fan of the guy and the voice that grew up.
I have purchased several copies of this album for friends and have been given the oddest looks when the presents were opened. You got me a Donny Osmond album??? What is wrong with you? I have asked each one to do one thing -- just listen to it once. Everyone has reported back to me that they were astounded at Osmond's great voice and expressed their gratitude for introducing them to a singer they had written off a long time ago.
So I Will Close With -- "Just Listen To This Album Once" I think many will be delightfully surprised!

Free Music Review: Donny's Star Still Shines Brightly

Donny Osmond is back stronger than ever with what I consider his best work to date, "This Is The Moment". The songs are all classic and contemporary Broadway fare, but with an interesting and suprising pop twist. Even if you aren't really a Broadway buff or fan, you'll enjoy this CD. Donny's smooth, strong voice is used to it's advantage here.The strongest tracks are the title track, the beautiful song "This Is The Moment" from 'Jekyll And Hyde', "Immortality" from 'Saturday Night Fever', and the absolutely gorgeous duet with Vanessa Williams "Not While I'm Around" from 'Sweeney Todd'. The whole CD is brilliantly arranged and produced.
I also love his renditions of "Seasons Of Love" from 'Rent' and "No Matter What" from 'Whistle Down The Wind'. The weakest track I think is "You've Got A Friend In Me" from 'Toy Story'. It just never grabbed me and I could do without Rosie O'Donnell singing.
This is definately Donny Osmond's moment !

What can I say except, "This Is The Moment" is a wonderful tribute to Broadway. I have been a fan of Donny's (Marie's too) for a long time. To date, I believe "This Is The Moment," is one of Donny's best musical acomplishments.Some of the Broadway shows Donny pays tibute to are:
Seasons of love (Rent)
This is the Moment (Jeckyll & Hyde)
Luck Be A Lady (Guys & Dolls)
It's Possible (Seussical)
Not While I'm Around (Sweeny Todd)
Give My Regaurds to Broadway (Little Johnny Jones)
Threre are 13 tracks and 12 of them are tributes to Broadway. The loner song that made its way on to the CD is not a Broadway hit, but a Disney hit. You've Got A Friend in Me from "Toy Story" is sung as a duet with Rosie O'Donnell.
With the release of "This is the Moment," Donny Osmond has found a way to bring his own unique style to this Broadway tribute album.
If you are a fan of Donny Osmond, Broadway, or classical/jazz beats this CD is for you.

This is definitely Donny's moment. This cd is his best ever. Take a listen to it - you will wonder where he has been hiding his voice. He was definitely meant to sing these types of songs. Even if you are not a Broadway buff (and I am not), you will love these songs as they are done not typically-Broadway style but with a pop flair. His voice particularly stands out in "This is the Moment" from Jekyl and Hyde, "Our Kind of Love" from The Beautiful Game, "Not While I'm Around" - a duet with Vanessa Williams from Sweeney Todd and you will be blown away with his vocals in "Give My Regards to Broadway". Also fun are two songs from Seussical -"Anything's Possible" and "Solla Sollew" and "Seasons of Love" from Rent. "Immortality" from Saturday Night Fever is also a winner. Pick up his cd - forget about the teenybopper of the 70's - he's come a long way and you are missing out on a terrific entertainer if you pass this up.Free Music Review: Osmonds Shining Moment

Donny Osmonds new Cd is definitely worth your hard earned money. He has come a long way from his "Puppy Love" days and has earned the respect from hard to please critics with this selection of Broadway tunes.His rendition of "This Is The Moment" literally gave me goosebumps and his duet with Vanessa Williams "Not While Im Around" was beautifully done and should be released as a single.His version of Youve Got A Friend In Me with Rosie O'Donnell is fun to listen to and it has a few ending quips of the talk show host that will surely make you smile.His voice is so smooth and inviting it will make you wonder why he has been hiding that voice since the 80s!This is definitely a shining moment for Donny and certainly reflects in the title track.I was never a big fan of Broadway but thanks to this cd it has opened my eyes to what Broadway has to offer.Even if you're not a die-hard Osmond fan you should give it a listen,you will be happy you did.Karen P
