Free Music Notes for Down From the Mountain: Live Concert Performances by the Artists & Musicians of O Brother, Where Art Thou?Free Music Review: Love the entire CD Hit: 5 Stars
This parallels the wonderful Oh, Brother CD {which I also have of course.} Now I'm waiting for both "Oh, Brother" and "Down From the Mountain" to be released on VHS. {This is getting expensive !!} I not only have all the Cox Family's four CD's, now I just have to have some of Gillian Welch's. That "Dear Someone" is very, very beautiful. Now I know why my lifelong love of country music was being disappointed by the sound-alike modern artists. Thank you T-Bone and Coehn Brothers for bringing this glorious music to America. !!!!

Free Music Review: WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE???? Hit: 5 Stars
This is an awesome album! THose of you who said that it was a direct replay of the soundtrack are full of garbage - there are new songs and there are LIVE versions of ones from the soundtrack (which, gasp!, are different from the studio versions). And, for those of you who didn't like the album because it didn't contain "Man of Constant Sorrow" should just shut up and go away, because you missed the point ENTIRELY. This is about a revival of old timey bluegrass, NOT about creating a few pop hits.So buy it, and love it. And quit whining.
Free Music Review: O Brother.... - Live! Hit: 5 Stars
This is a cd of live performances by artists that appeared on the soundtrack for O Brother Where Art Thou?, which was widely successful. This is a must have, with live performances by Emmylou Harris, Alison Krauss, Union Station, Gillian Welch, The Cox Family and more. This is another fine addition to your bluegrass collection, and I have to say its nice to see it coming to the forefront, it is truly beautiful music for the ears. If you liked O Brother Where Art Thou? then you will most likely want this if you don't already have it in your collection.
Free Music Review: Just try it, it is addicting. Hit: 5 Stars
I never thought I was a fan of this kind of music till the "Oh Brother" movie, but this "Down from the Mountain" performance has added to my new love. The DVD or VCR of this is also a must see, where it was good to get to visit John Hartford one more time. I really enjoyed the backstage, inside glimpse at the performers on the DVD. Every single song on the CD is a good addition to the over-all pleasant experience, and I suggest you buy this CD if you are a true lover of good music, no matter what type of music you prefer.
