Free Music Review: Very effective for my insomnia

As someone who had chronic insomnia for many years, I finally stumbled onto a solution that works extremely well for me. After trying many, many different things, the solution that works for me has been a combination of melatonin (this supplement doesn't seem to work for everyone), as well as listening to this CD at night with headphones on. I tried a lot of different audio CD's to help with sleep, but this CD is the only one I listen to anymore. It uses binaural beat technology to calm the brain down. Using binaural beats is neither new nor unproven. Essentially, this CD will play tones with different frequencies in each ear (which is why headphones are necessary) to induce different brainwave frequencies. This CD is designed to induce more delta brainwaves, which are associated with deep sleep.
All that said, I am not convinced that this CD is effective for me solely because of the binaural beats. I believe it is that combined with the ocean waves audio. Some people find the sounds of a thunderstorm relaxing, some people find the sounds from a rain forest relaxing, but for me, I really like the sound of the beach for relaxation (particularly without the intermittent sounds of seagulls, which this CD does not have). The way I use this CD to calm my mind at night is simply to just concentrate on the waves. When my mind inevitably starts wandering to think about something that happened in the past or something that I need or want to do in the future, I just calmly bring my mind back to concentrating on the waves without any stress about wandering off. This has been extremely effective for me, and I typically fall asleep within 15 to 20 minutes now. Being able to consistently get a good night of sleep has had a marked improvement on many aspects of my life.
