Free Music Review: Lame movie supplemented with an undeserving soundtrack

1. Powerman 5000 - Ultra Mega : I'm kind of tired of these guys, the same formulatic stuff, bad start to a good soundtrack. 2/5

2. Disturbed - A Welcome Burden : One of Disturbed's best songs, I can't quite understand why this wasn't included on The Sickness. 5/5

3. Slayer - Bloodline : This track was recorded specifically for this soundtrack, and it is awesome. Sort of mellow and toned down for a Slayer tune, but still aggressive. Definetly one of the top 3 songs on this CD. 5/5

4. System of a Down - The Metro : This is the song I initially bought the album for. In the same vein as their cover of Black Sabbath's "Snowblind," their cover of Berlin's "Metro" is twisted into their own style and brimming with bold energy. 5/5

5. Monster Magnet - Heads Explode : A decent song, more original and interesting than their previous work. 3/5

6. Godhead & Manson - Break you Down : Wanna-be goths still trying to scare your parents. 1/5

7. Linkin Park - One Step Closer : I think we all have enough copies of this song. But it's still a good track none-the-less. 5/5

8. Pantera - Avoid the Light : One of those special moments of the soundtrack. Pantera deliver an 8 minute showcase of what they are capable of. Going from emotionally mellow to aggressively brutal. If there was a song to define Pantera, this would be it. 5/5

9. Static-X - Ostego Undead : Too repetitive. Get's boring after a minute and a half. 2/5

10. (hed)p.e. - Swan dive : Again, I already own their album, so I already know this song. But it is still an awesome track. 5/5

11. Taproot - Day by Day : I didn't like it the first time I listened, but now I love it. One of the best songs on the album. Messy guitar work is saved by Steve's writing and singing skills. 4/5

12. Endo - Malice : One of those run-of-the-mill New-Nu-Metal bands. Semi interesting sounding. 2/5.

13. Flybanger - Blind World : Can't stand this band. 1/5

14. Half Cocked - Sober : A punkier track and pretty interesting for a new band. But still, nothing you haven't heard before. 3/5

15. Saliva - Your Disease : If you pay attention to any of my reviews, you know how I feel about this band. 1/5

If you want a fulfilling soundtrack, pick this one up. Also try the Scream 3, Strangeland and Heavy Metal 2000 soundtracks if you like the bands and styles of music on here.
