Free Music Notes for Score: 20th Anniversary World Tour - Live With The Octavarium OrchestraFree Music Review: Score: XOX - 20th Anniversary World Tour Live with the Octavarium Orchestra Hit: 5 Stars
I believe this is one of the best heavy metal live albums. The introduction is well designed to boost up the feeling that the show will bring a lot of excitement, their selection and order of the music is perfect, and the arrangement of the music is great. The length of playing together with the Octavarium Orchestra is adequately enough and I think they used the orchestra effectively. One thing that I do not like about this album is the package made of paper. Every time you remove a CD from and put it back in the package is a risk of scratching the CD. Still this is a great live album and is definitely a strong buy if you like Dream Theater, or melodious heavy metal or classical metal.
Free Music Review: Brian Ayers Hit: 5 Stars
One of the best live albums from the best musicians in popular music today. The songs with the orchestra are really exceptional, as the orchestra really brings out the best in the music. The live version of "Six Degrees" is overwhelming, and ends in majestic fashion, really one of the most memorable 42 minutes you will hear in music. I was not thrilled with the songs selection, but after listening to it all the way through, it's perfect. Don't buy this without buying the DVD also, which I feel is the best produced of their DVDs yet. I have been to numerous DT concerts, and this DVD captures the feeling of being there to a T.
Free Music Review: A fantastic live recording Hit: 5 Stars
Simply put, this may be the best collaboration between a heavy metal rock band with an orchestra that has ever been recorded. Separation of sound is very difficult to achieve when you are dealing with high volume but here the engineers manage to pull it off exceedingly well. If you don't know about this group by now then this is as good an introduction as you will find. If you are a fan then you will appreciate the excitement that the live audience adds to the band's performances even if you know most of the songs by heart. If you can't appreciate how incredibly good these musicians are then you have my condolences.
Free Music Review: THE best live album yet Hit: 5 Stars
Stand aside, Live Scenes. Budokan? Don't bother. THIS is the best live album that Dream Theater has put out. Both "Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence" and "Octavarium" (the songs, not the albums) in their respective entireties and with orchestra to boot!! The album also boasts two other tracks not otherwise released to official albums, Raise the Knife and Another Won, both of which are spectacular. Best of all, James LaBrie's voice is consistantly strong throughout the whole set.
Congratulations on 20 years, Dream Theater. Amazing set, come to Alaska, and here's to another 20!!
Free Music Review: HOW CAN YOU DESCRIBE IT??!! Hit: 5 Stars
this band is so great. ive been looking for a band that i really like and found linkin park. but i grew bored of it because they would do the same thing: sing or rap at verses but scream on choruses. But dream theater? WOW! You cant predict the song! One moment they're playing hardrock, the next, they're playing a peaceful piano piece. Somehow they make all of it match in a way and sounds GREAT!! I dont have this disk but i know most of the songs. which is After won, Root of all evil, I walk beside you, sacrificed sons, under a glass moon, innocence faded, and afterlife
