Free Music Review: Dream Theater? I don't think so...

I do not have the right to preach what a band should or should not do, but this album makes absolutely no sense. It is completely devoid of creativity and lacks any sign of the life and joy you find in their previous albums, even Falling Into Infinity (which is considered the weakest one). I have yet to resist releasing the tears from my eyes each time I listen to the beautiful, the absolutely gorgeous album known as Scenes from a Memory. When I listen to this, I simply cannot comprehend what is going on, thinking to myself: "Why are they trying to sound like Metallica? ? What happened to good old melody and compassion?"
I think Dream Theater could do a heck of a lot better than this, even if it is so extremely difficult to come even close to comparing to their masterpiece album. This is definitely chaotic, but to the extent that it's completely nonsensical. Every time I try to listen to it, I simply cannot get into it which saddens me to say that I will never listen to it again and that is a very difficult decision to make.
This is a Fatal Tragedy for me, Dream Theater.
