Free Music Notes for Do Or DieFree Music Review: Buy or Die!!! Hit: 5 Stars
"Face down in the gutter won't admit defeat though his clothes are soiled and black, he's a big, strong man with a childs mind, Don't you take his booze away!" An absolute fun CD. Dropkick Murphys are great. Love their sound and there songs. These guys always crack me up. This isn't your Black Flag, Minor Threat, Subhumans, and Propagandhi punk, no this is Beer Punk. It's great. Really an original sound. My personal favorite song is Baroom Hero, but all the songs rule, and you must buy this CD, DON'T SOWNLOAD IT! It's worth every penny you put into it. A must have for punx.
Free Music Review: the best DKM album ever released Hit: 5 Stars
This is by FAR..the best DKM album. Clever mixes of Irish jigs and sing a long oi! pub punk make this a keeper. Alot of people may not like it for it's mixes of acoustic irish tracks and traditional pub punk oi! ..but oh well it's great. My favorites are "Get Up" , "Never Alone" , "Boys On The Docks" ( I still listen to this one over and over )..and "Skinhead on the MBTA" The Singles Collection is another great one..I didnt particulary care for "The Gangs All Here".and I still havent heard "Sing Loud , Sing Proud" yet..
Free Music Review: Riotous Gael-Punk at its best! Hit: 5 Stars
Some people might think that the self categorisation and lyrics of these guys might not be serious or politically conscious enough to be taken seriously (Jem from Liverpool, you fool) Don't worry, its ok for the Irish to paint ourselves as working-class drunks, although its only alright if we ourselves do it. Ah, being better than the rest of Europe is tough!! Can you imagine a group of ex-pats from England coming together to fuse punk with their native musical culture to create something this banging? Does England even have its own unique musical culture and heritage? Of course not.
Free Music Review: fresh new punk Hit: 5 Stars
this is finally something fresh and new for punk. dropkick murphys mix irish music with boston street punk and just regular rock. the great thing about this album is that many people can relate to the songs, they don't try to be too political (thats getting kind of old). their is also a few ballads on the album, something most punk bands wouldn't do. my favorite song is probably barroom hero, its about a man who wastes his life away drinking. i really think this album will be considered a classic someday as the dropkick murphys gain more popularity.
Free Music Review: A classic Hit: 5 Stars
I just listened to this album for the first time today, and I was blown away. The Dropkick Murphys bring an energy and passion that is just amazingly infectious. Head-bobbing, anthemic songs predominate on this album; highlights include "Never Alone" and "Barroom Hero." The speed of the music and Mike McColgan's leather-lunged vocals give this music a pace and power that is hard to equal. A must-have for punk fans and probably even for metalheads. If you like your music fast and furious, this album is definitely for you.
